Was Woodward fired so the next coach has a say in the choice of who he works for?

The ultimate power move is to demand an AD who you hand picked to work with...or that you act as both...the next coach may have made this a stipulation of his hiring..
It would explain the timing if nothing else.

This is actually not a crazy notion if you are going for big, big game.

Kiffin or Saban being such.

Kiffin probably said, "don't even talk to me until Woodward is gone."

Or at least that's the script playing out in my head.

That’s one hell of an incentive to be able to offer someone like Kiffin.

We all know why woody was fired…failed hire at football in parallel with political misalignment with the idiot governor…

Stop pretending there was some grand plan…other than the idiot governor sabotaging the Flagship University

The speculation is that he was fired because Jeff Landry had a vendetta against him. Allegedly it was because Woodward balked at Landry's idea of rehiring Will Wade.

Of course we don't know for sure if that's what happened. However, Landry does have a history of getting revenge on those he thinks wronged him. Landry purposely had Garrett Graves district redrawn to ensure he would lose his seat in the next election after Graves refused to endorse Landry in the gubenatorial election.

When everyone on media was wringing their hands on how would an interim AD hire a coach and then we hire an AD who is not coupled with the football HC I immediately thought that any major coach in consideration will ask for a certain AD if the position is still open...

Probably more of a situation where the AD isn’t forcing hires or culture onto the Coach. Woodward likely wouldn’t give total control to a Coach and most top level Coaches and their agents will insist on this from LSU given the history.

All it took was 30 seconds listening to Ballard and Carmouche at the press conference table the other day to know there is no grand plan.

This is a tRant narrative I never heard until after this mess began. I seriously doubt it is true.

The only thing I have seen that even remotely sounds like this is an unnamed position coach saying he asked him questions about what he was doing. That seems pretty innocuous to me.

Just when you think the board has hit the highest level of retard possible, gems like this get posted.

Giving a prospective coach, or any coach for that matter, say on who his boss will be? Repeat that out loud to yourself and report back if you still think that’s a good path forward.

And yall think Landry putting his grubby thumb on the scale was a bad look and showed dysfunction?

None of this shite is true

Youre a dumbass

McMahon was given a 7 year deal in 2022. JBE was governor

Garrett Graves was sacked because he went after Scalise and Mike Johnson for Speaker. Before Landry was ever elected. Plus the redrawn district was ordered in 2022, and Letlow was the target, until Graves went full retard in DC

It may work out that way, but no. Obviously no.

What timing? LSU fired a head coach, and it was obvious the AD was going with him. They are without a president. A president will be hired this week, and then they will proceed forward with everything else.

When John fell Edwardsvwas the governor of the state of Louisiana he infiltrated the board of supervisors with people that had his ideology and political view I noticed his Administration hiredScott Woodward hired William Tate I’m sure they were not conservative but now we have a new governor and all of a sudden he opening his mouth which he should not be doing he’s basically doing the same thing and we’re finding fault with it but it was OK if John Bell Edwards did it because he wasn’t loudmouth. Another word it was political then and it’s political now but being the fact it was political then and it was left it’s quite all right

No, Woodward was fired because he’s a terrible AD.
