LOL…And when the next Manning is being recruited, how many people on the Recruiting board will be asking why he won’t sign with LSU.

Serious question for the Rant. Both Coach O and BK have been accused of becoming lazy and quitting while on the job. That’s very unusual for back to back coaches that have the experience both have. Could there possibly be something in common at LSU that drove that specific behavior from two different men? Just random quitters or something else.

You need to recruit some positions out of state. I don’t think Louisiana had a QB drafted in the NFL in over a decade. The NFL has drafted an average of 12 LA high school players per year in the last decade. Of those, about 7.5 per year were rated 4 or 5 star. No QBs and very few OL. OL averages 1.5 per until 2025 which had 5 from Kelly’s team. DL averages 2.5 per year. Besides QB, DL, and OL, LSU averages 8 NFL draft picks per year. We need to recruit out of state for the trenches.

Also, of the 12 LA kids getting drafted per year, 8 on average attended LSU
Indiana is an old, grown arse man team. Average age 23.5 years old. Many started college in schools not in the power 5 and most were 3 stars or less. They are a group of players that like football and aren’t in a rush to get to the league. Maybe one or two will get a look at the NFL. Just grown men with 5 plus years experience looking to kick the arse of a NIL superstar.
He’s not wrong. But, money drives all conference decisions. SEC makes plenty of money on conference games - because ESPn owns the SEC.

Maybe not. Indiana is one of the oldest teams in college football with an average age of 23.5 years old. These are grown arse men, not kids. We’ll see if this model is sustainable going forward but I think it will be when junior college or NAIA transfers still will have five years of eligibility like Paivia at Vandy. We could see way more grown arse men at schools like Indiana.
They are one of the oldest teams in college football. I believe they average 23.5 years old for the team. Grown arse men. Not a bunch of 19 year olds. Their players play because they want to play, not just for the money.
And people wonder why BK shut it down. He got tired of dealing with Woody’s protected guys. You’ve been saying it.
And we wonder why BK shut it down. This just doesn’t happen once.
No. You’re stating unequivocally that the program is bigger than any one person.
I think that gets Ole Miss into SEC Championship game.
This is the only explanation as to why Denbrock left suddenly and the year 2 drop off on D prior to that. Year 1 was a great coaching job by Kelly, House, and Denbrock given the roster and talent although we did sacrifice special teams because we used Polian to build the roster and just didn't have enough players to field a separate special team's squad.
Technically, if he is still employed by LSU, then another employer would be required to buyout his contract from LSU. His employment by LSU needs to be severed in order for that buyout provision to be eliminated.
Agree. So many factors and I’m not even sure how the money is distributed to players. If the player still makes appearances for the sponsor, he likely will get paid. If the player leaves the team and school, likely not
NIL isn’t pay for play. It’s marketing based. So I doubt it unless the sponsor cancels the marketing deal which can’t be tied to pay for play.
It appears they didn’t allow that with Kelly. With Lane, I suspect it’s written into the contract.

LSU has advantage over OM

Louisiana is the third poorest state in the U.S.A. but Mississippi is the poorest. Lane to LSU!!!
It will be a good measure of the "class" of LSU fans. No matter what you think of Kelly, to boo an LSU player on senior day would be indicative.

Many people hate NIL and transfer portal mentality from players, but how fans treat a player is the mirror of that from a player's perspective. Loyalty goes both ways, and other players will see it.

Same with Nuss. He might be the last of the fifth year Sr. QBs at LSU.
We hired the guy that got fired from Ole Miss. just saying….
