Teachers might be the most overrated people in American culture.

Yes, they deal with unruly kids who are disrespectful. It's a job I wouldn't want, so you have to respect that to some extent.

But by definition, they spend their days surrounded by uneducated, immature individuals. They are accustomed to being the smartest person in the room. No one is there to call them a dumbass for their stupidity.

One of them hatched this "brilliant" idea and the rest of them went along. Seriously? A group of school teachers mocked a school shooting? WTF thought that was a good idea? Apparently, a bunch of school teachers.

I was being sarcastic. The administration made up excuses for the teachers.

Easily.

it not really close though nurses were close at one point but have lost ground with the recent spate of teacher dysfunction.

It's not believable by anyone with any sense.

But I guess it's enough to provide some plausible deniability.

They are Halloween costumes.

Halloween costumes are often tacky.

These certainly are, but your reaction is ... just a tad hyperbolic. Charlie Kirk was a political figure, not a religious icon.

They’re a by product of the system they were brought up in

They have the free speech right to wear them.

They also have the right to deal with the consequences of wearing them at a school while teaching children.

After over a month of sick evil douchebags getting famously fired for mocking and celebrating a public murder, how arrogant and stupid do you have to be for doing anything even remotely like this?

Maybe. But their bosses, the teacher's unions (not the local communities) will likely suspend them, quietly move them around until the furor dies down, and just put them somewhere else.

And your take on their stupidity shows the system that raised you, failed you.

Stupidity should not be defended
