Either as it is just starting, or after it has started?
Why or why not?

Nah. Ain’t my problem. Keep on moving.

If it's two strangers on the street absolutely not. People get shot and stabbed in such situations all the time.
You also have no context over what the fight even is it could be completely justified there could be a clear good guy or bad guy.

depends on the 2 people...
If its a friend or family member, or child, definitely yes!
If someone looks like they're getting whopped, then likely yes.
If 2 strangers or thugs, then likely no.

Nowadays? No way. Unless one getting their arse beat was a child.

Nope. I'm not getting hurt trying to keep two idiots from hurting each other. Let them figure it out.

I worked with a guy who saw a man smacking a woman around and he tried to intervene. The woman helped the man beat the snot out of him.

It depends. If they are both fighting, no. If one is on the ground and the other is stomping/kicking them I will try to convince the person to stop.

I was a bouncer at stray cats in the glory days. Trust me, breaking up a fight between two random people is a no-go. You are going to get hit, elbowed or worse. Maybe by accident, maybe not. But I'm not getting popped in the face unless it's someone I know and care about or it's some old lady getting mugged or something.

Why do you start so many threads? Shitty ones at that. Do you crave the attention?

I would hold my phone horizontally.

What should we be discussing on the off topic board on a website named after cat feces?

I have and will. I don’t look like a guy you want to fight so I’m comfortable being a voice of reason.
Last one was in a parking lot of a grocery store. I’m walking to my car and hear screaming. Look back and it’s this older, tiny redneck dude yelling at an SUV near the crosswalk. Presumably, the SUV didn’t let the guy cross or something.
This ole boy is going off. A HUGE black dude steps out of the SUV…like, big enough the redneck guy should’ve said oh shite and walked away.
But he didn’t. Kept running his mouth as this football player looking motherfricker is clearly ready to knock this old man out in one punch. I got in the driver’s ear and just kept telling him it’s not worth it while GENTLY kinda pushing him backward (I didn’t want that smoke lol).
Driver just said some smartass remark and got back in his SUV and drove away.
I’d never jump into the middle of an active fight but if I can prevent someone from going to jail over something dumb, it’s no skin off my back to speak up instead of pulling out a phone to catch the action.

Two adults? If one is beating the shite out of the other well beyond the point he should have stopped then its likely. Otherwise, they are two adults. They are responsible for their own actions. Let them beat the shite out of each other.

No, but I'll be the aggravating dick bag who will have it recorded on my phone and screaming in the background.
