A little peek how things were from Whitworth

From the Fitz & Whit channel. Andrew talks about reaching out to try and help only to get the "ok we may get back to you". Also said Frank sent out an invite to all former players.
Good stuff that we mostly knew, but it shows it from a guy who could have probably helped our OL.

Frank is going to repeat the O-interim approach of going above and beyond to drum up the support of the former players in the hope that MAYBE he will be considered for the permanent job.

Frank is fresh off of bad stints as a HC at UTSA and McNeese. He will not be considered for the HC position at LSU.

A lot of what he is saying is also a good reminder that asking “who would y’all hire” on this board is pointless. There’s so much more that goes into (or should go into) hiring a football coach that what people think.

You are suggesting Whitworth was going to come in and coach our OL?
I don't know if Kelly didn't allow former players to come to practices or not. It sounds like Whitworth didn't know either and was reacting to Frank's open invitation.
But, if I'm being honest, despite what Whitworth thinks of himself, I don't want Whitworth having input on who LSU hires next. It's a bad idea.

I remember a comment I heard Saban say about Whitworth. It was something like “I would have liked a whole team of Andrew Whitworths”

I'm not suggesting shite. All I know is it's stupid to not accept any help from someone who has excelled at the job your players are failing at. That could just be meeting and giving them a pep talk about how to dominate your job. Or it could be a day of intensive help watching and 'coaching' them for a day to help evaluate.
Why the frick wouldn't you want help in every aspect from guys who went through the program and have a love for it? It doesn't take any more of your effort to hear outside professional opinions. It's pretty much the trait of every good leader.
