There is yet another article in Fox this AM about how 2.9 billion intended to address homelessness has been infiltrated by 700 of these "non profits" who are using the grants, etc for nefarious radical causes rather than homelessness.

There are tight restrictions on "political activism" to be considered a non profit.

The IRS needs to put together a task force, a large one, and partner with the DOJ to address this cancer.

If you want a political activist group, thats fine. But dont claim to be some charity to....one get grants.....two not pay taxes.

This has been going on in both parties for years. It’s been completely fricking abused by Democrat.

Yesterday, I suggested that the Republicans come up with their own wish list bill the counter the bullshite Democrat bill currently keeping the government shut down. I would completely eliminate any government funds, going to nonprofits or NGO and any way possible. Include severe criminal penalties for anyone who violates these provisions. Here’s the list….

quote:

The Republican wish list bill can include at least $1 trillion in budget cuts to the current budget. Passing every change made by DOGE as a law. eliminate USAid in its entirety by law. Place restrictions on eligibility for Obamacare subsidies and Medicaid/Medicare. More tax cuts for all. Overall yearly limits on immigration. Severe criminal penalties for anyone who abuses the immigration amnesty provisions. Entirely eliminate any government funds going to nonprofit organizations and NGO’s. Eliminate drivers licenses and Social Security numbers for all illegal aliens. And perhaps most important of all - mandatory Voter ID in every federal election and the elimination of mail-in voting.

There is zero reason for our govt to hand out money to NGOs for unspecified purposes. Grants for research an science are fine but this flow of taxpayer money to support “causes” needs to stop. We just don’t have enough to go around.

We have 2.4 million Government Employees (civilian). Tell me again why we need NGO's? Can't those 2.4 million just do their jobs?

The entirety of the "non-profit" system needs to be scrapped... especially if those "non-profits" receive funding from the government for anything...

It's the old "church/religious" grifts. Won't get audited to avoid the bad press. And they are useful for the people in charge.

Finding a way to verify better at the start is the only way. Otherwise they'll stay active forever. And if any do get investigated, it's like a few drug runs getting busted to distract from the other main ones. Or the legit stupid ones that arent apart of the overall bigger Org/ plan.

We need a law that requires all non-profits to spend at least 75% of proceeds on whatever they claim to support. Most spend 75% on overhead, mainly management salaries.

In the past, some of this was based on the fact that Virginia was a purple state and this is a big revenue producer for them, similar to steel in Pennsylvania, etc.

But Virginia is lost.

Doesn't generate enough revenue for the IRS focusing its attention there in the current environment. Should be addressed by Congress if you want a real solution.

Changing the tax legislation does seem to be the only impactful way to fix this

This is a very elementary question. The simple answer is that government employees aren't able to funnel the money back into the pockets of the congressmen and senators that sent it to them because they're subject to audit and jail. NGOs are not subject to audit and can and do funnel the money back into the congressmen and senators pockets. By way of paid board appointments, "hiring" family members of congressmen and senators, and in some cases straight up sending money to their offshore accounts. For that simple reason, NGOs not only will never go away, they'll be even greater in numbers. The whole system of the federal government is broken and notwithstanding a total revolution or constitutional convention of states, I don't know that it will ever get fixed. And I don't see either of those happening

The NGO Industrial Complex... I been saying this for years. Glad it's finally on people's radar and a few leaders with balls are trying to do something about it.
