I had some really great coffee at a buddy's house a couple weeks ago, but they only make it grind style from Black Rifle coffee - Maple Pecan.

Was wondering what yall like as the best whole bean?

I can't stick to just one, I have to rotate between dark and light. I like both, but not too many times in a row. I keep notes on the ones I like, here are some:

Community - Evangeline blend

Trader Joe's cans - Ethiopian Guji light roast and French roast low acid

Private selection (Kroger) Yrgi-something Ethiopian light roast

Groundwork - Organic Supernatural

Blue Bottle coffee - Bright

Blue Sail Ethiopia

Lavazza 1kg (2.2 lb) bags on Amazon.
Prices fluctuate wildly but if you pay attention you can pick them up for as little as 6.50 per pound.

We get our whole espresso beans from a small artisan roaster in Fort Lauderdale, Wells Coffee Co. - fantastic flavor.

I alternate, but for my espresso maker I use:

Reve’ Espressgeaux
Buddy Brew Cubano Espresso
Las Brujas

And anything fresh, local, and/or some sort of espresso blend.

I enjoy River Road Coffee out of Baton Rouge. I like their Acadian and the Creole. you can get it in whole bean or ground. I can't get in Lake Charles, so when I travel for work or head east to see family, I stop into stores that carry it over that way and stock up.

I've been on an Airship kick lately. Really like their Ethiopian Kochere

Tasting Notes: FLORAL - CHOCOLATE - BLUEBERRY
Variety: Heirloom
Processing: Natural
Altitude: 1800-1900m
Origin: Ethiopia
Sweet, complex, and fruity. This coffee has all the characteristics that we look for in a good natural-processed Ethiopian coffee.

In terms of high quality coffee, that is not good coffee…but, if you like it then that’s all that matters.

My favorite whole bean was some Cherry Coffee Roasters Lagniappe Blend. Also bought some Cool Kids Esdres Guevara Honduran that I really liked a while back. Both on drip or pour over.

I do a roasters choice from Black + White right now

Once upon a time I was a Costa Rican Tarrazu loyalist, but now I just switch among top roasters every 6 months or so and enjoy the variety.

I honestly rotate. Quality beans from prominent single origin regions or blends of them, roasted to medium by a local roaster, ideally in the last couple of weeks, stored in a bag with a one way air vent. If all of those boxes are checked, I'll be shocked if I don't enjoy the cup.
