What I think the biggest problem with LSU schematically is?

Outside of just stating “culture” this is what I see from a football standpoint of LSU.
1) Part of the reason Joe Sloan needs to go is there is no rhythm or rhyme to his offense. He runs so much gadget (screens, rpo) that there is no identity on offense. No type of run game. Do you guys ever watch Nuss in the pocket and say to yourself “please don’t throw a pick” or “man he looks so uncomfortable dropping back to pass” well that’s because this offense isn’t built on a system. It’s reliant on scripted calls. If you watch Alabama, Tennessee, ole Miss, Georgia, etc. these premier offenses do run gadgets but that isn’t their foundation. They use it as a change up not their bread and butter. They don’t live and die by these plays. They live on a system where they pound the rock effectively and the QB can get to a 3 read progression during the drive in their passing game.
2) Berry needs to be seeing more snaps. He’s the best pure RB LSU has right now and he’s a DOWNHILL BACK. Durham needs to be used as a scat back. A guy you get him the ball on checkdowns and let him create in space. CD shouldn’t be your bellcow.
3) That offensive line is so soft it’s so damn dissapointing. No movement or physicality in the run game none of that. Just remember the last couple runs of OL that have been drafted outta lsu were recruited by O. He knew to find assholes on the LOS. Every Tuesday in 2019 even the week of the championship we were having full on brawls in practice with the offense. 9 on 7 period I remember Florida week we stopped mid period because the OL & DL started throwing fists at each other. Adrian removed Tyler Shelvin out the a gap late and it turned into a brawl. Not saying for this team to be a ufc team but this was the sh*t that took place every Tuesday even if we were undefeated. We wanted to kill each other at practice. That’s what made us physical.
4) You either play Harold Perkins on ball or off ball but you better decide quick because the schematics of trying to make the kid Abdul carter one play then Devin white another play is hurting the kids development and stock. He’s a good player but let him master one kick first before you teach him a 1000 different kicks.
5) LASTLY, get UNDER CENTER. Yes it’s not freaking pretty i get it this is the era of RPO, spread, no huddle etc. but lsu needs to get outta these gun looks cause the run game stinks and these tackles can’t hold on for dear life in the pass game. At least being under center gives you better angles in the run game and creates opportunities for explosives in the play action game.

Just wanted to get this football side of things out there just so people don’t think I’m just saying “culture culture culture culture” and not actually giving the details.

Awesome to see you here, Breiden!

Regarding Sloan:
The 2-point call against Ole Miss is one of the worst calls I have ever seen. He is obsessed with throwing to wide outs in the flat, either on screens, or just in an attempt to get a 1 on 1 matchup on a quick hitter where your receiver has to make a guy miss. This was cool when it happened against Clemson three plays in a row, but here we are weeks later and teams have obviously seen the film.
Sloan doesn’t adapt. We have a QB who may or may not be hurt, and we are calling passes from the near hash to the far sideline. There’s tons of calls for passes outside the numbers. Sloan doesn’t utilize enough of the field. It’s the opposite of what most modern successful offenses do.
No push from lineman on running plays at all. I do agree that I think Berry is the best option. Durham seems to deviate from the play direction quickly, getting himself into trouble.
As for the RPO…nobody buys what we are selling. If Nuss was a running threat, fine. He’s not, even if he is healthy, and defenses just have to key on our backs. Again, Sloan calls plays that essentially make things easier for the defense. They don’t have to worry about defending the entire field. All that innovation that Leach and his offensive schemes brought about…Sloan is basically the opposite of that.
It’s the same shite every week.

The problem with LSU is Brian Kelly

All these problems and the head coach isn’t one of them?

Going on a rant about how the team should practice more like you did in 2019 is just Boomer shite tbf.
Also, O recruited Campbell and Jones who couldn't run block worth a shite either at LSU for whatever reason so I'm not sure why we are bringing that up.

I have said this exact same thing at least 100 times the last month. Verbatim

This is close to the dumbest post I've seen on this site, for real.

Sloan really thought he was clever re-using that 2 point play on the left side. He would have had a better chance isolating Green 1 on 1 with a fade or slant. That possession showed he panicked and lacks football IQ.

Hold on, are you THE Breiden Fehoko?
As I was reading your post, I was like this guy knows football. And then you seemed to have inside knowledge about practices years ago. Then I looked at your name!

Thanks for posting.
It’s so obvious to everybody but BK, Sloan, Davis etc. The soft mindset and inability to make in game changes is baffling!
So is it laziness, inability to coach, lack of knowledge Or they just don’t care anymore?
Curious what you think the root cause is?

Nuss is not creative enough to work in this loose of a system.
I was watching Gunner Stockton throwing RPO touchdowns from inside the 5 yesterday at Georgia like Burrow used to. It just is not that hard. Give the man some good plays to run.

When we hired Kelly my only thoughts
were, we have someone with a plan. With direction. Discipline. Proven. He built ND back up (spare me the scheduling they’ve always played anyone anywhere and I hate those mofos), but he had big lines and pounding running games and always used the TE.
Yeah we’re starting to use Green, 5-6 weeks in. But we just look soft overall.
I know Clemson isn’t what everyone predicted but I lefty that game finally thinking we are back to being a physical lsu team all around.
I don’t know if it’s schemes, young line, bad qb, injured qb, all of the above. But we look and play reactionary and soft. Can’t make tackles behind the LOS.
I was on the “give BK this year, his full 3 years of roster development” and now he’s lost me. It’s beyond shite or get off the pot. Even if he won out it’s problematic we’re even as bad as we look right now. That’s all on him. I’m not pulling for him to lose or anything but he’s lost me as a supporter.

I watched Georgia and Ole Miss play yesterday and I think it was in the third quarter. George was on the three or 4 yard line. They got an eye formation run a guide in motion fake a little toss to him quarterback had two or three reads the third one was the running back right out of the flat dumped it right to him touchdown look like a simple well run play and I’m thinking to myself. Why can’t we do that? I don’t get it. I agree with everything you posted.

I said it last year that the RPO was ill suited for Nussmeier because he's not a runner and Kelly is scared shitless to let him be one because he does not want him hurt because he is less than enamored with any of the replacements on the roster.
He was betting on bringing in Underwood and maybe hoping to yank Nussmeier if the offense struggled.
That being said, the offensive struggles are really not more than 25% on Nussmeier. I keep harping on the receivers. They keep too much to the sidelines and defenses know this. When Nussmeier connects on crossing routes over the middle good things happen, but his receivers are not making inside moves to the middle of the field regularly like Nabers did
