Rodney Atkins playing tomorrow night. Rodeos several nights. Lots of good cooking in and around the fair grounds. Roads are already packed for the parade. I know we like to shat on WP as the doormat to Mississippi, but the fair is always well done and worth a visit.

I've been once and it was a good time.

That’s a great fair. The Miles Branch Settlement (I think it’s called) is very cool to see.

Heading there Friday night. Always worth it for the food alone. The sausage booth next to the rodeo ring is a must.

but the fair is always well done and worth a visit.

Saw a toddler smoking kool menthols there once.

Seen Rodney Atkins play before and he puts on a good show. He’s one of those performers who you go to their show, not know all their songs, and hear a song and think, “I didn’t know that was his song”.

What’s the average BMI at this fair? 36?

I knew a girl from Franklinton who would often use the Free Fair as a reference point when explaining to others where she was from. It was kinda sweet how much the fair was a source of pride for her.

Headed there tomorrow. On the fairgrounds tomorrow and Friday. Saturday—nope. Out in Pine through Sunday, though.

Stay away from the Midway on Saturday night was always the rule when I lived there.

my parents live in Enon just south of Franklinton. Been to the WP Fair a few times as Wed-Thurs are the nights to go. Fri-Sat gets crowded like Mardi Gras day in NOLA. Parking is insane. Pic from many moons ago as I'm sure the tiger cub was heavily dosed with valium.

That was just a port-o-let with a glory hole, baw. Honest mistake, though.
