The SEC outsmarted themselves when they created broad rules without defining them clearly. It would have been easy to define a “professional athlete” with time and discussion. Instead they rammed a decision through and should know creating rules, regulations, policy and procedure takes time and thought. Rushing anything like these types of decisions is only going to create more work and more mess down the road.

The NCAA created the bigger problem. Mascona was right when he said they could have simply applied 5 for 5 to next year and avoided this whole mess. Decisions have consequences. Considering consequences in consultation with a good attorney would have avoided this larger problem.

So I see Finebaum on SEC nation and that is about it. He seems annoying, but nothing awful. Then I saw him and Steven A Smith go back in forth a few days ago. Is that really Paul Finebaum or what his show is like most of the time. He was an absolute douche and acted as if he knew everything that was going on. I have no point of reference because I don't listen to him. Which is the real Paul?

Remember Lane and LSU fought for players. Do not think that won’t be used on the recruiting trail.

Lane also has likely got his team completely circle up and ready to fight as a unit. That halftime speech was fire!

I would love for the ACC or Big 12 to release a statement that should LSU be removed from the SEC they would welcome LSU with open arms.

I don't want LSU to leave the SEC, but this whole situation just got stupider especially the added bonus of lack of institutional control because Lane is a smart arse. Come on.

Is Emile Picarella (QB) still at LSU? I know he was way down the depth chart, but I assumed he would transfer too if there was no chance to play.

Don’t take your kid to that game. Lifelong LSU fan and married an Ole Miss fan. Zero class and sophistication under normal circumstances, next year will be terrible. Even my Ole Miss wife admits it’s worse going to that game in Oxford.
