So they are just going to keep remaking older movies with actors that don't even fit what the character was supposed to be.
Glenn Powell is the most ridiculous excuse for a "movie star" in history.

It’s a remake of the book which is nothing like the Schwarzenegger movie…

They are apparently changing the book ending which is one of King's most iconic endings

the character Arnold played was nothing like what was depicted in the book and this trailer is way more faithful to the book than the Arnold movie.
on the flip side, a faithful adaptation of Forrest Gump would be hated rightfully so.

I'll skip that one. And that ELO song made it worse.

Of all the things in this world to draw a line, you pick interracial marriages?

Ahh, you poor baby, having to look at a white dude with a black wife and child. How painful that must be.

Looks pretty good. Maybe this one can actually make money if people forget what a piece of shite Stephen King is and he can keep his mouth shut for a month or two. I don't blame them if they change the ending of the book.

Oh I agree, but he's an M/TV board favorite. I looked up his filmography. I've seen him in at least seven movies. Good looking guy but he'll never exude the star power of a Tom Cruise or a Brad Pitt. His personality is just too bland, he can't do the intense characters that the biggest stars have done. Hollywood is trying to make Glen Powell happen. But I think he'll fade after a few more films.
There was a story that for Top Gun 2 he auditioned for Rooster. That role went to Miles Teller (of course, the actual star gets the big role) and Powell was offered another role, but he initially turned it down because he wanted the bigger role. Tom Cruise asked him what his goal was, and Powell said "I want to be you!" I think Cruise really liked that response and thought Powell could achieve his big goals. Cruise convinced him that it was better to have a smaller role in a big film (and getting attention for a great performance) than the starring role in a small film. My point is that he had the support of Tom Cruise, which I think reverberated through Hollywood, and now they're trying to convince everyone that he's the next superstar. The guy has been acting professionally since he was 15 yrs old, but didn't really get noticed until he did Top Gun 2 at age 34. Umm, there's a reason he wasn't "discovered" in his 20s.

Edgar Wright of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim and more. I'm in.

Man, the hate for Glen Powell in this thread is palpable. I don't even care about him one way or another, but this shite is hilarious to me.
He's a good looking dude, does seem to have some charisma (that was a weird gripe IMO), and seems like a plenty capable enough actor to pull off a fricking Running Man remake. Good Lord.
