Dear LSU Family,

The safety and well-being of the LSU community is our number-one priority. At all times, we seek to ensure students, faculty, staff, fans, and visitors have a safe and positive experience when on our campus.

In light of recent events, we write to assure you that we maintain significant resources to ensure public safety. On game day, we typically have 600 trained on-duty police officers representing LSU Police, local law enforcement, and state agencies to safeguard our community. We take full advantage of advanced technologies, including license plate readers, camera networks, and upgraded lighting, which allows for real-time, campus-wide monitoring and rapid response. Our law enforcement presence is fully coordinated. If individuals commit crime on our campus, they will be arrested, and we will work diligently to ensure conviction.

In the coming days, we will continue to review our resources and protocols to maximize the safety of the daily campus experience. As a community, we must also look out for one another. If you see something that doesn’t look right, say something. By standing together and staying alert, we make LSU safer for everyone.

As we enhance our public safety protocols, we will communicate these changes to our constituents, ensuring our full commitment to protect everyone who comes to our campus.

Sincerely,

Scott Ballard, Chair Matt Lee

LSU Board of Supervisors LSU Interim President

Whatever they’re currently doing isn’t working. So they need to commit to doing a lot more.

Whole bunch of words to say nothing. These guys could partner up with Brian Kelly to host a clinic on that

What more could they do, really, without cracking down on individual rights or profiling? I'm not from around there... seriously asking. Some people just do not follow the rules/laws.

Sounds to me like the people have spoken and spoken loudly.

I imagine some of the correspondence they've received since Saturday has been less than cordial.

I look forward to seeing what the words and I quote "enhance our public safety protocols" look like in action.

Make my alma mater great again. NOW

Crack down on individual rights and profile. That’s what they should do.

Marijuana is not legal in Louisiana. It is decriminalized under a certain amount, but is it still Illegal to smoke on campus, RS 17:240

Me: I see a bunch of young ruffians about. I need some police to disperse them.

LSU: I’m sorry is somebody committing a crime?

Me: no, they’re just burning a little bit of the devils lettuce.

LSU: we don’t have the resources to deal with everybody smoking the devils lettuce. Can you describe them to us?

Me: a poster on Tiger droppings refers to them as YN. Can I say this?

LSU: no. that’s racist.

Me: OK, thank you for your help. I’ll call back if they start shooting someone.

In their defense -- it's not LSU's fault that BR has people roaming around whose only responsibility 24/7 is to do dumb shite and make life difficult for others.

Your standard “the ongoing issue has been duly noted” email. Give ‘em a few weeks for an after action review and see if anything changes or we get a follow-up. 50/50 odds of anything meaningful actually happening. I would’ve put the odds much lower under Tate, so am glad he’s history. But will wait and see.

Then why was the 2025 admission rate split by demographic at 19% black despite them only comprising of 13% of the population

Well, it’s the flagship university of a state that’s 33% black. Probably higher if we look at the under 21 population. So that’s not surprising. I’ll get downvotes for this, but the thing to do if you don’t like those numbers is to work on SU and spend the money to make it more attractive. The campus is horrible. Not even so much from being abused so much as being old af and totally outdated. It’s like going back to 1970 and not in a good way. I certainly wouldn’t go there if I was the target student and could get into LSU instead.

I promise you mine was...my fatigue is VERY real and I am not losing LSU game day to these lowlife, twerking, pot heads that have ruined so much of what was good clean fun.

They need to call the LSU math department and ask them what 600 x 10 is.

The truck driving parked on Highland with the giant zig zag advertisement right by a certain group of tailgaters said all you needed to know.

The dude 2 rows in front of us stunk up the entire section. He either had an lb on him or he and his two ladies had hot boxed for 3 days straight. Had to be permanently in their hair because they stunk up the whole section.

The biggest problem is they have zero problem with it. They wear it as a badge of honor.
