If LSU loses 2 out of next 3, is BK officially in the hot seat?

And two out of those three are on the road. It's BK in trouble if we drop two of them? That's another 3-4 loss season in the making. Wasn't he brought here to win NCs. How is he going to do that with multiple losses every season?

My goodness, the catastrophe syndrome is strong with some of yall.

To be clear, he aggravates me at times but to call for him to be fired when we're #10 in the country (I get it, we don't look it but who does? I thought Oregon did and they got beat)

Some of y'all need to get a grip.

Not on the hot seat but definitely puts next seasons results under the microscope. I don’t think he will last through 5 seasons with no playoff appearance regardless of buyout after 2026. Others will tell you differently.

He'd be 6-3. Franklin got fired with 3 losses. LSU is a program you expect to potentially win a Nati moreso than Penn St.

if LSU doesn't make the playoff this season I think the suits will let it be known that LSU had better make it next season

Welcome to the story of damn near every post-2011 Les Miles season

We’d be sitting like this at something like 5-1, ranked Top 10-15 with the season still to play for, but with a clearly fatally flawed team. And there was very little genuine question we’d end up with 3-4 losses, and it would manifest like clockwork

As a fanbase we learned from those experiences and figured out pattern recognition. All we’re doing is accelerating these discussions a month. That’s it

Dude isn’t on an actual hot seat even if we were to lose out, LSU just isn’t eating that buyout in this era.

LSU is going to beat Vandy beat A&M then lose to bama and win the rest of their games and make the CFP.

They’ll continue to get ugly wins leaning on the defense. We can only hope the offense gets hot like Ohio State last year

What if LSU wins the next 6, then wins the SEC title, and 3 straight playoff games? A raise and extension for BK? What’s up with all of these horseshite hypotheticals? If you’re gonna blow smoke out your butt then why not something nice? Or do we automatically resort to doom and gloom around here?

LSU is number 10 AT THE HALFWAY POINT! Everyone knows where this season is headed, it’s just that some want to live in denial. Grip that. Fans are getting tired of underperforming teams.

If LSU sits at 6-3 again with a +$20m roster, moves will need to be made. They will already be on the hook to pay for some of the offensive firings.

The OP said if he loses the next 2 of 3. He (or her) didn't say BK is on the hotseat now.

That aside, no, he wouldn't be on the hotseat. Not because LSU wouldn't want to make a change. But because they couldn't make a change. It would be far too expensive to pay BK's massive buyout, buyout the rest of the staff, commit a ton of money to a new staff, THEN have to pay $15M-$20M for a new roster.

However, the fanbase would have ZERO confidence in him. He was brought to LSU to compete for a national championship. Not to win 8-9 games per season and play in some meaningless bowl at the end of the year. High expectations? Of course. But that's why he's being paid $100M. If he doesn't win the NC this season, then he will be the first LSU HC in 25 years not to do so within his first 4 seasons. And given LSU's big commitment financially to this roster, it's hard to imagine the odds of winning a NC next season will go UP after all of the player attrition following this season.

To make the playoffs you have to be in the top 12. There hasn't been an LSU coach unable to achieve this since Curly Hallman. Miles achieved it seven times.

Furthermore, the only LSU coach unable to achieve this dating back to Paul Dietzel is curly.

If he misses the playoffs this year then he will be on the hot seat heading into next season. But he still will not be fired until the end of next season at the earliest but most likely after year 6.
