John Paul II was like a celebrity pope. No other popes even tried to do what he did. He was one of a kind. I was very satisfied with Pope Benedict especially because Francis couldn’t shut up on every topic known to man. It would be nice to get back to popes who worry about spreading, teaching and defending the faith. We don’t need a celebrity pope.

Francis didn’t exactly comment more or less than recent Popes. He just said things that western liberal media could use to support their agenda - so it got more attention.

I seem to recall that Jesus Christ was basically a liberal activist who said love thy neighbor as yourself. Turn the other cheek. He is also the guy who pissed off the Jewish establishment by turning over the tables in the temple. But maybe I am wrong, maybe there is a bible somewhere that can be viewed in such a manner as to fit your ideas.
