However fun it may have been to drive, it was never a real Supra.

Not sure about skyrocket, but anything is possible.

It’s a rebadged BMW Z4, it does not possess the hallowed ground as the MKIV

We will all be unemployed. No one will be able to afford one.

I would've bet money that Supras were discontinued a decade or two ago. Had no idea they were still pumping those things out.

Same here. Always saw them as a 70s to 80s model. Don't remeber hearing/seeing anything later.

Simplify their lineup. They probably have 1 too many coupes as it is - they can keep the Supra tag if they want as a top trim of the GR86.

It will give them another slot for a hybrid or EV (although I think Toyota has paused - on the mainline side - the rush to EV everything).

There is also a new flagship coupe from Lexus on the horizon (to replace the LC) - they may want to leverage those changes down the line, although who knows if that will be 2027 or 2028?

They stopped producing them in the late 90’s/early 2000’s, then brought them back in 2019.

Okay, that makes way more sense. So I was right, I just didn't know they had brought it back. Thanks.

It's overpriced and it's essentially a BMW WITH A Toyota label slapped on it.

Underpowered for the segment, IMO.

Now you'll be forced to overnight parts from Japan.

Damn.

Well it wasn’t exactly an overly appealing replacement for its predecessor. Couple that with a BMW motor and it’s pretty ho him for a true Toyota fanboy
