Was how Vader died lame or was he really that vulnerable?

Anakin/Vader, regardless if half machine half man was an absolute beast. Luke takes 10x the amount of lightning from the Emperor and gets right up once he sees Vader pick up the Emperor.
Vader picks him up and catches secondary lightning for maybe 5 seconds, coupled with a robot hand being chopped off that wasn’t connected to his vitals anyways, and he dies.
Was that a lame death or was Vader just ready to die?
Seems his death was actually lame, I’ve always thought that.

I always assumed it fried his life support tech that was helping keep him alive?

Vader's suit kept him alive and the lightning ruined his suit's electronics is my guess.

Always took as a ton of voltage going through his body. Hadn’t really thought about if anyone has taken that amount of juice directly since Vader. Yoda and Mace recoiled even deflecting it with light sabers so it had to be powerful.

The suit was Palp's insurance against his apprentice. He knew that he would need a trump card against the chosen one.

The canon reason is the suit was basically a super conductor by design. It was one way Palpatine kept Vader in check

Palpatine was playing with Luke. He probably really let Vader have it when he realized what was going on.

Well not being a deep reader on the lore I guess I have my answer
fricking Palps, always thinking ahead when he put Vader in that suit

I love the OT so much, I suspend reason/logic when inconsistencies pop up like this (and when the prequels & sequels' lore doesn't line up with the OT lore).
One related mystery I overlook is "Why does an external burn victim with no internal lung damage (who can loudly scream 'I hate you!') need permanent life/respiratory support?"
In Rogue One and the Kenobi series, Vader had a bacta tank to slowly smooth out the severe external skin scarring suffered in Revenge of the Sith, (much like sarlacc-gastric-acid-scarred Boba Fett slowly did in his series). And furthermore, Vader is helmetless/ventilator-less in his chambers during the Empire Strikes Back, but in Return of the Jedi, dies without the helmet when Luke reluctantly took it off.
Ultimately, I don't care. I love the OT.

Yeah I thought it was kinda implied with the whole mechanical breathing sound. Suit is fried and it was keeping him alive

The only thing that makes it lame is that somehow Palpatine survived that shite

lightning from the Emperor

The lamest death is reserved for Han.

I assume that's the canon explanation, as well. "He's more machine now than man."
Switch off the machine, switch off Vader, effectively.

What Vader didn't know was that the emperor had the same people who designed the McDonald's ice cream machine design his suit. Dude never had a chance.

Not in my world. Star Wars is only the OT and nothing else.
I've even given up the prequels due to how bad the sequels were.

I always assumed the electricty took out his life support. The machines that kept him alive failed.

Interesting. But I never spent a lot of time on technological analysis of the event…

The entire series is full of giant plot holes that must constantly be filled by the fans. There are some great moments but also some pretty sloppy/lazy writing.

Palpatine was toying with Luke. He knew how much he could hit him with and not kill him. When Vader grabbed him, that was full on dark side lightning he was putting on him to try to stop him.
Or at least that makes sense to me. Who knows?
