The article I saw mentioned just kayak division so I wonder if Hobie spun it off or if Bass Pro bought the whole company (Sailboats, SUPS, Kayaks etc).

When I think of Hobie - I still think of sailing with my older brother on his 16' cat back in the late 70s and 80s.

Has there been anything that Bass Pro has improved after acquisition?

This one hurt. Cabelas clothing was so good.

I bought one of the knockoffs that can come apart in the middle for transport for a fraction of the price.

I have no complaints and the reviews are all good online.

Hobie is the Yeti of kayaks.

Have you seen their parts inventory or lack there of? The 360 drive should have never hit the market. Trash. Most of their dealers will leave now that BP will be pushing those kayaks in their stores. IMO quality is going to go way down.

I really like my Hobie kayak but it has been impossible to get parts. Maybe Bass Pro will stock some damn parts.

My dad bought my brother and I a 16' Hobie cat when were were teenagers. It's a miracle I'm still alive. But hey, at least we didn't crash it into a fishing pier like our buddy's up the street.

Natives are wet, but still a quality kayak. I think Old Town is going to dominate the kayak market.

It feels like Hobie has been in a death spiral. The hull quality now is already super questionable. Not sure Bass Pro could even go lower. The only thing that has kept me in my PA 14 is the 180 kick up drive, which is the best in the marsh. Would love to get a better hull from Native or Old Towne, but feel like the prop drive would be super limiting in shallow water.

2022 Titan 12 Propel (Gator Green color) and 2022 Slayer Propel 12.5 Max (Grey Goose color). Bought them brand new in 2022, Titan has been in the water one time, slayer around 3 times. Both have been stored indoors.
