I miss Ralph & Kacoo's in BR

This is PEAK BR for me. I just found a picture of me eating there as kid. Food was great, service was great, vibes were great .... Old BR nostalgia. I wish they come back ... it was a BR staple to me but I understand why they won't. But I do think a new location closer to LSU or VSG would do great, not gonna lie.

we lived off red gravy on Sundays at my grandparents and hush puppies on Saturday nights at Ralph and Kacoos

Definitely have nostalgia for the old original location.

Weird that their three locations remaining are:
Bossier City, LA
Spanish Fort, AL
Lufkin, TX

The final nail in its coffin was Kat & her Kookoos in August 2005.

There's one off the causeway in Mobile. But it blows.

The Catfish Shack was another staple.

We recently went to the one in Spanish Fort and it was pretty glorious. Very much in tune with what I remembered from the one on Bluebonnet.
It's really a shame what happened to that brand. I think I could make money with it. Piccadilly bought them out a few years ago and fricked it all up because I assume they're inept and have a retard running things.
How could you miss? I know demos shift but there was a way to finesse things. Maybe I'll just wait until I can pick up all their IP in a fire sale and bring it back.

I dug some Ralph and Kacoo's.
Also, shoutout to Rax. Those sandwiches hit hard when I was a kid.

It’s interesting Rax didn’t make it, but Arby’s did. Rax was so much better.

The times my parents sprung for R and K's were indeed glorious. The shrimp platter was just so good with the one bowl of shrimp au gratin. Rax did hit but so did Danvers.

My favorite hush puppies

Recently had a good lunch at the one in Bossier City. First time in since they changed the menu a year or two ago. No more free hushpuppies, but they did bring our group a nice basket of rolls and butter.
They offered several good lunch choices for about $15, but a worker said they are about to change the menu again, so that likely means some increases. Get it while it's cheap.

I ate at R and K's in the French Qtr in 1982. our High School French class (8 of us) went for the weekend. that's all I got

Arby’s stays true to its roots. Rax is struggling on a national scale, but there are still a few locations left. Danvers was the best.

Growing up in Lafayette, I thought all you could eat whole fried catfish was the pinnacle of fine dining

The crab platter had fried crab claws and augratin. Seems like a very spoiled childhood to have eaten this and my weight in hushpuppies. And I wasn't even a fat kid

They used to have some good hush puppies..
I remember going there for prom...

I miss the OG Don's Seafood on Airline in BR. The new chain style locations just aren't the same.
