Shaquille O’Neal expressed his support for the development of a new $400 million arena on LSU’s campus—and signaled that he’ll be an early investor in the project. “LSU and Baton Rouge deserve a world-class arena and I’m very excited to endorse Oak View Group’s plan. I look forward to becoming the first investor to help bring this new venue to Baton Rouge and LSU.”

What will they do with PMAC?

I would use the PMAC to host MUFON UFO conventions. The architectural style is perfect.

I always love these press release quotes that don't even try to hide that it was written by someone other than the person it is attributed to.

Shaq may be the coolest mofo on earth. I’ve never been the type to get all goofy and star struck when seeing a famous person, but Shaq is someone I’d love to chill with for like a weekend. Seems like a genuinely real dude.

Shaq gets it. Unfortunately 1/3 of our fan base is more or less retarded so the topic is polarizing.

What an awesome and all around good person Shaq is.
Throughout the years, it's been clear he has a soft spot in his heart for LSU/BR and wants to see the school and city have success. What an awesome ambassador for LSU.

Lots of times the older arena will serve as a volleyball only venue, or gymnastics.

I think they’ve already said all sports would move to the new arena.
I guess the PMAC would be a practice facility.

I walked by Shaq and Stanley in the late 80s on campus. No fanfare but Shaq was being gracious. Stanley kind of kept to himself. Two of the hugest people I have ever seen. I’m 5’-11” and I felt like a dwarf. It’s just the personality Shaq has developed and from what I can tell he loves LSU and Louisiana. Great asset.

If they're small and you worry about the women's sports team filling the new building. Two of our women's teams outdraw the men's basketball team. The PMAC is too big and in too premium a location to stay around if it's primary tenants aren't using it. We already have one of those across campus.
