Morris Bart fires back at Gov. Landry over insurance reform bill

The reforms, passed during the 2025 legislative session, target both the legal system and insurance industry. Landry said the changes are designed to hold insurance companies accountable and rein in what he describes as a “lawsuit culture” that drives up rates for Louisiana families.

HB 519 bans texting and social media use while driving.
I don't think Morris Bart is too concerned about these measures.

I don't disagree, I just don't think it will hurt Morris Bart's business all that much. My BIL got in a fender bender with a woman who had state min limits. She sued and collected max limits from his personal auto policy and his $1M personal umbrella by claiming injuries that she likely already had to begin with. She's like 5'4" 220 lbs. That type of stuff happens everyday in Louisiana.
ETA: and in regards to this one "HB 450 requires plaintiffs to prove injuries occurred during the accident in question." I don't see it doing much of anything. There are groups of doctors in Louisiana who will write pretty much whatever you want in a medical report. I used to work as a claims adjuster and saw stuff from those guys everyday

I do think the laws will help but need to go much further. Better than JBE approach but not satisfactory Morris is just jealous of Gordon and Carmouche
