Yep, Big Pharma is going to do everything they can to hand the House over to Democrats in the midterms. It will be interesting to see how much more funding goes to the Libertarian Party to take votes away from the GOP.

He can use various agencies to:
Cut out TV advertising
Cut them off approved Medicaid/Medicare payments
Use FDA to delay new drugs indefinitely
And a myriad of other things to ruin them. As a druglord once said "take your medicine son, you cant beat the feds".

Spot on. They will pull the "free markets" card to get the libterardians going. Its not a free market when the entire globe conspires to frick your country. Our exports have been tariffed and subject to unfair regulations (particularly cars and agricultural products) for decades. Additionally, foreign corps are subsidized or supported by their government to provide a competitive advantage over US corps. Everyone else mandates price controls on pharma so they price gouge the only place that is a "free market" - all while US taxpayers contribute billions to R&D

I don't think he can control the costs that are negotiated between private insurance companies and private pharmaceutical companies. He can control what the government is willing to pay.
How do you think it will look when Medicare/Medicaid patients pay $20/month for a prescription when you and I have to pay $1500/month? Not well.
It will be interesting to see what the Never Trumpets argument against this will be.

I'm doing my part by not taking any prescription drugs. For most conditions ( not all), there are natural remedies that work better without the side effects and high cost.

Big pharma is the big bad wolf but trump has the power and the balls to wreck them through the executive branch if they don’t come to the table. Hopefully he’s willing to see this one through.

Fastest way to make changes is change their patent rights. Shorten patent rights on molecules that aren’t novel. Shorten patent rights on devices to administer drugs. A well know tactic of pharma is to patent the device and the molecule.
The #1 customer of pharma is Medicare. There’s a lot of leverage to move all manufacturing to the US.

Why is it that we pay 10 times more for the same drugs than others abroad? Why do NATO countries finally agree to pay the amount they previously agreed to pay for defense? Why have imposed tariffs not raised prices on consumer good appreciably?
BECAUSE we have been getting ripped off for years. We are and have been paying the taxes, the security costs and medical care costs of the rest of the "free" world for the privilege of being their police chief and we are just now figuring it out.
