Bear is obviously gone and Frey likely will be too. I just saw that Serna will be coming to campus and forgoing the draft so is he a potential starter at first? Or am I missing someone?

It would not surprise me if Frey is back to show he can play a position.

Isn’t Simpson (transfer portal) a first baseman? Think Dardar played a little there too.

1B Yamin Serna (may get some reps here) or both could be at C) Braun would not rule out possibly Jake Brown depending on how OF shakes out
2B Dardar Reaves
SS Milam (can't afford injury here) maybe Guidry is your emergency SS
3B Simpson Pearson
C Arrambide and whoever is not at 1B and will see if Hodge makes it to campus
CF Curiel
LF Brown makes move to left (Moss will have a say on how OF shakes out if he gets thru draft)
RF Harden
DH several and whoever is squeezed out of position above

Joe Doyle, MLB scout mentioned Frey as 50/50 on coming back since he’s only played 1 year as a DH. He doesn’t have any tape at any position so teams are a little hesitant on him.

Frey should come back. He hit over .330 and had some huge moments — that Little Rock game was clutch. With Jones gone, first base is a great opportunity. It could be a lot like Jones coming back this past season — one more year to develop and really boost his draft stock.

Not to mention, as a fan, I’d love it haha!

Brown will be in RF he has a cannon for an arm and great range as Ben Mcdonald said with Curiel Stanfield and Brown you have 3 centerfielders in the outfield.

Frey is not coming back to play first base that’s for sure. Players don’t need college to show they can play first, that can be converted in the minors. So that leaves the outfield, which doesn’t lend itself to realistic opportunities for him there. He would also lose all financial leverage in next year’s draft. In my humble opinion, if he’s drafted anywhere in rounds 5-7 this year he will sign. If he comes back and is a top 3 round pick, they can give him a bonus less than what he would’ve gotten in round 7 this year if they wanted to. I think there’s only a 5% chance he comes back. If Stanfield doesn’t come back then that percentage could increase to 25%.

John p is not a solution for any INF position unless he pinch hits and it would likely be 3rd, maybe 1st only in rare case.

If Frey come back and plays 1st base that will be huge for the "Tigers"!

There's definitely smoke regarding Frey, but I don't think he would come back to play first. He would need to be in the outfield

And he was so bad all season that he was able to double his season long HR and RBI totals in 3 games.

No thanks.
