I like grocery shopping early in the am before the general public invades the common spaces.
I also like self-checkout, scan and go type stuff too. I get it done a lot quicker if I do it myself.

Happening on something I didn't know the store had that I am interested in. I stopped coming home from work today and serendipitously found some rosemary and pink peppercorn flavor-infused beef tallow that hopefully will be great for cooking the côte de boeuf I have trussed up and dry-brined in the fridge.

In North Carolina we have Lowe’s grocery stores. In Lowe’s grocery stores is the Beer Den where you can get a local craft beer and drink it while you shop. On Thursday’s there are 1/2 price pints and Saturdays are 1/2 price growlers. This makes me very happy.

What makes me happy is I tip $10 every time I go there or I buy flowers for whoever is at the register. I’ve brought back plates for them to take home after I cook dinner. It’s the little things.
