Well I imagine most people in Iran don’t have a starlink setup so turning it on probably doesn’t do much

What's the end game here? And how do they get access without the hardware?

This is great for Iranians. They can freely communicate...., unless the Iranian government can monitor amd censor the internet.
Anyone know if they can???

You can bet they didn’t turn it on for lack of terminals

You don’t need any type of special equipment. It’s satellite provided broadband internet service that if he turned on for free, all they have to do is go into their settings and connect to Starlink, and they have WiFi.

Starlink supports satellite-to-phone using its Direct-to-Cell service, allowing unmodified 4G LTE phones to connect directly to Starlink satellites which essentially act like “cell towers in space.”

Does it also support Israel’s ability to communicate with Israeli agents, military etc over Iran.

Although the shah of Iran may not have been the best leader for them, you cannot escape the fact that life was sure lot better back in the days of Iran when he was their leader as opposed to today. Just go look at some of the pictures dating back to the overthrow before the overthrow of the Shah. Definitely more westernized and you could tell people were a lot happier back then than they are now over there

I don't know this for sure, but it's waht I was thinking... Starlink is providing internet signal without encryption, anyone that can receive internet can now be connected to the internet.

The thing people don’t understand about Iran is on paper they have a lot of laws and you definitely have to play along with wear and appearance in public but mostly anything else including alcohol and global internet is up to negotiation if you pay the right bribe. The Islamic Republic of Iran is as cruel and backwards as it is corrupt.
