Will Louisiana ever get an MLB team?

Would a NOLA Franchise garner sufficient fan support?

From the outside looking in it seems like a lot of people in the state love baseball, hence the question

One problem I see is that MLB teams make their bread on regional tv markets.
For like 40% of the season a Louisiana baseball team would be competing for eyes with LSU baseball. And i just dont see enough people choosing a new MLB team over watching the Tigers. This is exclusively an LSU/Louisiana problem.

Personally, I would love for it to happen but I don’t think there would be sufficient fan support and it would end up being a massive drain on the state.

They do but I don't think NOLA can viably support 3 pro franchises. They have trouble with just 2. And just because LSU baseball gets a lot of support doesnt mean it'll translate to a pro franchise. Especially with no salary cap they're going to inevitably be one of the poorer teams every year with no history. Sounds like a recipe for lack of support.

Nope. Talk of a NHL team is a pipe dream as well. There is not enough corporate money there anymore. I'm not convinced the Pels would stay long term. Seattle and Vegas are chomping at the bit

There is not enough business or people to support another pro franchise . Without revenue sharing the saints would have left long ago . While the area has grown (Mississippi coast and BR ) in just don’t think the population could support it

No. There’s too much overlap with the Astros. They should focus on putting the Stros on local TV.
