Graduation Situation Got Ghetto Pretty Quick

So my daughter graduated with honors last night. Couldn’t be more proud! Anyway my day was crazy. It started off with physical Therapy for my shoulder. Had to move it to earlier in the day to make room for our 3pm dinner reservation at one of the nicer restaurants in our area. We get there and our waiter was a 35 year old black dude who was either high or extremely ADHD. He would disappear and then we would see him running out of the kitchen with a refill pitcher. But not see him again. Dude was a crack head. No idea how that guy was waiting at this restaurant. On our way out some black lady’s reservation was ready and they called her as Doctor so and so your table is ready. I was like really?
We get to graduation and inside it was a madhouse. Cops were everywhere. On the floor in the isles all over. I was ahead of my family to get us good seats. I was able to make it to my seat and just as I was about to sit down some black lady with her old mother by her said. Oh we were about to sit there. She was not yet up the level of my seats. She was two rows down on the stairs. These seats were 8 rows up. I pointed to the row right behind my seats that were open and she said she’s handicapped. I was like why didn’t you sit down there then? She said there were no seats down there. I looked down and there were several seats. I said why didn’t you ask someone down there to move? But it’s okay for you to ask me to move? The lady in front of me was saving seats and said she is handicapped! I was like oh great since you want to get involved then you can give her your seats. About that time a big dude that was with them said I ain’t got time for this. I was like oh you ain’t got time? (It was still thirty minutes before the graduation started.) I got up and walked back to the row right behind me. By the time I got up the row I was on had all filled up. So they only had 4 seats. Let sat the old lady and three others. They had a big group. Since I sat behind that row. The rest had to go three rows back. The whole family paraded by talking shite. Saying people be crazy and stuff like that.
I really felt like they were the ones who were being crazy but somehow they thought I was crazy. They never asked me to give them those seats but acted entitled to them. Raised a ruckus and played the victim. Number one, it’s not my fault they didn’t get there in plenty of time to get the seats they wanted. Number two, it’s not my fault they didn’t take the available seats lower down but further back. I also had a family to take care of but that didn’t seem to matter to them. I feel like I was perceived as the bad guy here but had they asked nicely it would have been totally different.
Once my family got there I saw some seats in the next section and was able to get them. So we moved. They then got our seats. But again no mention of thanks for giving up those seats so we could be all together. My wife didn’t want to move because it was a section further away but I was trying to be nice. I really hate it when things like that happen but I feel like it was really jacked up.

I think you said “black” only one time. Good job reigning in your white privilege! ??

Graduating with honors from a school like this just means you’re able to read at your actual grade level.

I’ll take things that didn’t happen for $800, Alex.

I'm guessing it happened, except the OP didn't actually say any of the shite he said he did.

I’m sure they were quiet and held their applause until the end after all of the kids had been announced.
