The remnants of a once great beer belly.

I used to have a great beer belly that took decades of dedication to create. It was living proof that I had directly experienced Ben Franklin’s quote “Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.” I decided I no longer needed to walk around showing the world that God loves us by the size of my beer belly.
So 43 days ago I hit my beer belly with a 1-2 punch. I stopped drinking entirely, cutting my weekly beer consumption by 42 beers or more. I also ramped up my cardio (swim/bike/run) to 4.5-5.5 hours a week.
I lost 10 lbs in less than a month. I didn’t measure the circumference before I stopped drinking, but my once great beer belly is noticeably smaller. The problem is the remnants still remain.
I am looking to incorporate a 1-2-3 punch where I add specific exercises to get rid of the final remnants. Does anybody have any recommendations? Sit-ups would make my abs stronger and may give me a 6 pack, but if it is covered by the remnants of a great beer belly nobody would be able to tell.
What have you done that has worked?

Shave “abs” into your belly hair. You will turn plenty of heads with that look.

I did circuit training 4-5 days a week on top of what you did. Also cleaned up my diet. That should do the trick. 30 minute strength training and then add some core a classes. Peloton has a bunch of choices if you have it. Otherwise, YouTube has some decent stuff out there as well

Cut your carbs in half, eliminate sugar (poison) and practice intermittent fasting. The pounds will melt away faster than the Rant in the seventh inning.

Zepbound
I used to drink beer (daily) and have a job where I sit at a computer at home for 8-9 hours a day, over the years it caught up in my belly.
now I've stopped drinking(zero alcohol), walk two miles per day, lift 3-4 times a week and take zepbound.
- 40 lbs in 18 months

Congrats but, You must be a pretty small guy to quit drinking that much and only lose 10 lbs. I lost 20 in a month when I quit.

Keep up the cardio. As you say, ab exercises don’t help you if there’s a layer of flab on top. Belly fat is usually the last to go, unfortunately.

Continue your caloric deficit, and if you want to take an additional step cut out carbs and sugar (not entirely, just try not to consume as much).
You just started 6 weeks ago, you will probably be there in 6 months just continuing what you’re doing now.
Your body decides what areas of fat to consume first, and typically people’s belly fat is the last to go because it’s right around your center of gravity.
Keep it up, you’ve done great.

How about picking up a weight or two?

you cant spot reduce to any real degree. just lift weights, do your cardio and get in a caloric deficit with very high protein
then its just consistency

cutting out 42 bud lights is cutting 4620 empty calories per week out. Good job. That's a whole day of eating for most the baws here.

Doesn’t work. Just keep restricting calories, keeping your proteins up, incorporating good fats, and avoiding carbs until your body eats the last fat reserves.
