Heard a rumor today that many restaurants are in financial situations that they cannot recover from. I was not given any specific names on these places. As recession looms, this has been 3 years in the making and I am not surprised

This is likely the case in any city at any time.

Correct. And down here the rent and leases are just obnoxious for restaurants: I have to think it’s just as bad in BR.

I've heard rumors that Twin Peaks may be closing and reopening as The Toasted Yolk

Knowing absolutely nothing about The Toasted Yolk, I just looked it up.

Is there really confidence that a place like this would do better than Twin Peaks? I can't speak to TP's Friday/Saturday nights, but we go sometimes for Saturday lunch, and it seems to be about the same rate of business as other places on Saturdays.

Nothing at this Yolk place seems to stand out, and it isn't even open at night.

Shoney's -> Twin Peaks -> Toasted Yolk
They've circled back to breakfast.

I think it has more to do with the franchise fees. TP corporate is getting greedy. Toasted Yolk just opened a location in Lafayette and it's doing well, as are other locations in TX. I agree though, I really don't see anything special about it. Seems like Another Broken Egg 2.0

You must have been talking about Chicken Salad Chick since it closed today.

Honestly no big loss. Niche fast food/fast casual places are probably in a lot of trouble.

Chipotle & Panda Express seem to be doing just fine.

It’s a breakfast/brunch place. I’ve been to the one on the northshore and it was good. Pancake and brisket omelet, although those can’t really be messed up. My daughter liked their eggs Benedict or something similar, but found it inconsistent. She actually prefers whatever Cracker Barrel in Mandeville offers that is similar. I would go back based on what I tried.
