Huh? That's crazy, but true.
The Kid and The Man born in the same town of 5,000 people and on the same day of the year.

If he never has the injury problems, could he have pushed to be the GOAT?

You could have said Stan Musial is the other one.

Have been randomly seeing this meme floating around and can't figure out why it all of a sudden became a meme.
Only difference was the meme said Ken Griffey Jr is the 2nd best left-handed ballplayer born in Donora, PA with a Nov 21st birthdate

Stan could have made the majors as a pitcher.
Wouldn’t have been the legendary player that he became, but was good enough to be a major leaguer as a pitcher.

Easily would have. Well, moreso if he took his fitness more seriuosly. The injury issues I think were more of a byproduct of that.
I'm hard to come up with a definitive better pure ballplayer than him, just as far as natural overall talent and ability.

You missed it
It’s “Ken Griffey Jr is the season best LEFT HANDED hitting baseball player born on Nov 21st in Danora, PA”

No doubt. Griffey's injuries starting with the left hammy that he injured before the 2001 season is what kept him as just one of the best instead of the goat.

Ive never heard Musial simply referred to as "The Man", honestly....only ever Stan The Man.
The reference, as it was stated, escaped me too.

Analytics maybe. Those big 3 stats(BA, HR, RBI) favor Griffeys peak heavily.

Ken Griffey Jr.’s grandfather was a high school teammate of Stan Musial.

Close but the actual stat is:
Ken Griffey Jr is second all-time in hits by a left-handed outfielder born in Donora, Pennsylvania on November 21st

You'd have to use advanced stats only to come to that conclusion.
Trout has a slightly better slash line, but Griffey's peak beats Trout's peak damn near everywhere else
using 162 game averages:
Griffey ('93 - '00)
Trout ('12 - '19)
Jr. - 52 HR
Trout - 39 HR
JR - 136 RBI
Trout - 103 RBI
Griffey - 116 strikeouts
Trout - 152 strikeouts
Griffey - 91 walks
Trout - 111 walks
Griffey - 125 runs scored
Trout - 123 runs scored
Both had 7 silver sluggers
Griffey - 7 gold gloves
Trout - 0 Gold Gloves
Griffey - seven 40+ Homer season
Trout - only three 40+ homer seasons in his entire career so far
Griffey - six 100+ RBI seasons (three with 140+ RBI)
Trout - three 100+ RBI seasons in his entire career (zero with 140+ RBI)
