Europe Prepares for the End of NATO — Bloomberg
??James Stavridis, former Supreme Allied Commander Europe, says that if the US leaves NATO, Europe will completely stop relying on Washington in its foreign policy.
??This will deprive the EU of a vital strategic resource: 100 thousand US soldiers, bases, ships and planes will simply disappear.
??It is more likely that the EU will have to create its own European Treaty Organization (ETO), which will exclude the US but include Canada. Or it will create an independent security system within the EU, including Britain.
? “The EU has everything it needs: military structures, command and experience in conducting independent operations, such as peacekeeping in the Balkans,” Stavridis said.
??Regardless of the scenario, the consequences of the US withdrawal from NATO will be serious: Europe will have to increase its defense spending, strengthen ties, and begin to more actively support Ukraine.

So… they will have a treaty organization but no military to back it up?
Have fun storming the castle!

If true, they would not need the US.

Don't threaten us with a good time.
Back to George Washington's original guidance:
quote:
"It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world... Why, by interweaving our destiny with that of any part of Europe, entangle our peace and prosperity in the toils of European ambition, rivalship, interest, humor, or caprice?"

Oh well there you go then. See - they can handle it.

Good. NATO went on about 3 decades past its Cold War purpose.

This is exactly what we want right? We focus on the Americas and let the world do whatever the hell they want?

LOL, soon the entire continent will be a Muslim caliphate.

Charles Martel, their continent turns its lonely eyes to you.

Yes.
Europe has been playing fast and loose with all the feel good, human interest bullshite. They're importing muslims 10-1 and as their countries just go to complete shite, they're paying with everything with American money.
It's time to face the music. Start electing politicians that will fix it or else enjoy all your fresh new caliphates. Beards and Burkas are the hottest fashion these days..

if we leave Nato do we lose all the foreign bases?

What would be the need to create another treaty organization. Wouldn't they be able to just let Canada into the EU and allow Britain back in, or is there some stipulation on why this couldn't happen?

That would require the will of the people to vote on it. I don't think the globalists want to risk letting their citizens choose at this point.

1. They want to go to war with their primary energy supplier and they've castrated their own ability to produce energy.
2. They've neglected their common defense and instead spent the money building a continent wide welfare state.
3. They're thumbing their nose at the country that provides most of their military defense.
4. Their welfare state has been overrun by non-Christian non-Europeans who are never going to assimilate into their cultures and who are prone to violence.
5. They're broke.
6. Their political class is even more corrupt and incompetent than America's.
If the Trump administration withdraws from NATO and engages in punitive trade policies with Europe, they're looking at a rough path forward. I don't feel any sympathy for them at all.

I wonder how much luck they will have recruiting an army out of what they turned themselves into.

Each and everyone of your points in spades...
Its staggering to contemplate the possibility that Trump is not only reshaping our Government but also European Governments..

They are ten years behind the majority of American voters, lets get out.
Today's Europe is proof that defending them in WWII was a waste.
