Tonight we just won the largest single-plaintiff injury verdict in Louisiana history for Jose Valdivia against Brock Services - one of the largest industrial scaffold companies in the world.

We had one of the best teams in this trial. Alec Paradowski, Jonathan Mack, Lori Bailey, and Carla Galvan with me from A&I. Tony Clayton, Michael Fruge, and Brilliant Clayton with Clayton Fruge. And of course Cody Hall and Isaac Bruce with WPT. One of the most fun times I’ve had trying a case.

This is sad case. Jose had a 20 lb scaffold bar dropped on his head when he was 25 years old by a co-worker whose nickname was “crazy Mike” and “walking hazard Mike.” Jose was taken immediately to the hospital where he was diagnosed with a serious spinal cord injury and brain injury. Jose can barely talk and his sister takes care of him. Jose was paying for her to go to college while he was making $40K/year working for Brock. She had to stop school to take care of Jose full time.

Instead of investigating the incident. Brock covered it up. And Brock’s main witness (Josh Miller) posted bragging about having zero recordable injuries while Jose was paralyzed and this case was in litigation.

Even through the trial Brock refused to acknowledge it was responsible. Refused to report the incident. And Brock’s defense was Jose is a liar and faker. It was shocking.

Jury deliberated for about two hours and returned a verdict for $411,687,387.36.

I don't think 411 million is needed for the guy. I do think 411 million is needed to discourage this sort of behavior from companies.

Anyone who celebrates this verdict has zero room to bitch about the cost of insurance.

It’s hilarious when the plaintiff wins and you sit in a jury room around a bunch of random people trying to decide how much money you think is fair for the defense to pay. Its a bunch of completely random ideas.

$411M? Well that certainly won’t have a negative effect on businesses in the state! Good
Lord, the plaintiff certainly should be compensated, but talk about ridiculously egregious awards. How can they begin to justify that amount?

I never understood how a district attorney is allowed to hold a private practice and represent plaintiffs in civil trial. Clayton is almost always involved in every high-profile injury case.

Once I was on a jury for a civil case and they were suing the state for a pretty ridiculous sum. I got crazy looks when I asked everyone who they thought was paying for it since the state was being sued.

why not 400 billion as long as we're throwing out insane numbers?

But the silver lining is companies will be less tolerant of shite-heads on the job.
We've all known some.

Maybe not try to cover it up and act like it didn’t happen. This will get reduced but the
message is clear. Don’t deny an obvious life changing injury and don’t let some moron post stupid shite.

They could and should have taken care of this in a much more professional way yet they acted completely like it didn’t happen.

And I’ve followed this for a while as I know a few people with some knowledge so I didn’t just get my opinion from the OP post.

This same lawyer will represent "crazy mike" when he gets fired "without cause" and post about his huge payday when a jury finds crazy Mike should be awarded 5M for being fired

Lawyers are scum shite

If any of that stuff noted in the article is true, Brock should have settled
