Republicans have proposed lowering the federal share of costs for Medicaid expansions, which could reshape the program by gutting one of the Affordable Care Act’s major provisions.

Cutting Medicaid spending, which is expected to be central to fulfilling the budget plan that House Republicans adopted Tuesday night, could result in millions of Americans across the country losing health coverage unless states decide to play a bigger role in its funding.

Good. If states want to provide medical care to their citizens, let them. If not, those people can move to a state that does.

States are going to have to get to work cutting out fraud. It's there, but they won't. They would just make across the board cuts and blame the Republicans because it's easier.

Trump could send everyone in America a hand written note that ensures Medicare will be there and he’s doing all he can to save it and the media and democrats would say if he’s cutting costs it is directly related to cutting people from the program.
I think the public gets it, but the media will lie, which is a major change from the past. Most people want the people over 100 yrs old on the roles to be checked. People also want these bureaucracies audited and they understand there will be mistakes but it’s worth it.
Trump needs to move forward with this momentum at his back!

I guess that should give the states an incentive to crack down on fraud. It's funny how quickly people change their opinion on something when they are now responsible for the bill.

What’s wild is only about 15% of the 72 million Medicaid enrollees are seniors. Almost half are 19-64 years old or in other words working age.

Medicaid. Not Medicare.
This is about undercutting the ACA, which specifically mandated an expansion in state Medicaid programs (until the SCOTUS made it optional).

Alabama never expanded Medicaid.
We good.
We good.

Medicaid and free insurance for poor people needs to go away entirely. It’s a huge grift and a transfer of my hard earned tax dollars to people who are lazy. If you are too poor to afford insurance then you are too poor to access healthcare.

Do we care about Medicaid? There’s already Medicare for granny. When do we quit paying for people.

OOOORRRRR... maybe fine the waste and fraud and this is a moot point.
Nope, politicians want more of our money to piss away.

$37,000,000,000,000 in debt
$386,000 per taxpayer
No choice but to make cuts in spending
As Don Corleone once said “act like a man”

The whole point of the ACA and Medicaid Expansion was to increase dependency.
