And not baristas. These are white collar types getting canned.
In my small suburb, they now have three other chains to compete with, two of which seem to be doing quite well.

Starbucks is set to layoff 1,100 corporate workers as CEO Brian Niccol works to simplify the coffee company’s structure. In a message to those employees, Niccol said, “Our intent is to operate more efficiently, increase accountability, reduce complexity and drive better integration. All with the goal of being more focused and able to drive greater impact on our priorities,” CNBC reported on Monday
The company has been trying to bring customers back to its cafes after sales drooped during four straight quarters. Starbucks has also been struggling as customers choose cheaper options.

I don’t really mind Starbucks office workers getting fired but that piece of shite CEO has been paid $90M+ in about six months and flies to work from SoCal. Perhaps he could cut back a bit too.

These 1k are part of the corporate problem that has allowed the baristas to become so problematic. They allowed that culture to take over, even encouraged it

Will 60 Minutes have some of them on Sunday to cry about it? I didn’t think so.

The amount of corporate bloat in this country is crazy. These companies that specialize in the simplest of tasks (selling coffee) need all of this oversight and rule makers.

Tough times call for tough measures....

This should go over well with the types that work at Starbucks.

Terrible coffee. shite tastes like dirt. Never understood the fascination unless you are a 35 year old woman getting the 600cal frappa shakes everyday.

In many industries that is directly tied to the regulatory requirements imposed by the government.
Kills the regs, kill the functionary roles that ensure compliance.

Good thing it's not the government. Can't fire poor performers without everyone melting down.

Lol. They’re probably outsourcing something major. This is a company that operates 40,000 stores all over the world. Different laws, policies, procedures. Takes a lot of shite moving in the background for you to be able to order a coffee on an app most anywhere in the world, walk in, and have it ready.

Disagree, I like this and get it from the grocery store, much cheaper that way.

This has to put libs in a pickle
Libs love the bux but their CEO burns fossil fuels on a private plane and cuts workers to pay for it

How are they going to pay back their student loans on their gender studies degrees?
