Help me choose my next rifle!

Wanting to buy a new rifle. I want a short and lightweigh tackdriver. I am thinking in the 6lb range with a 16" barrel. Caliber isnt a huge deal, but .308 seems like the right direction given the shorter barrel. I already have a few 300BLK, so not that.
Will be used for whitetail shots under 200yds and other such items. Glass will be a 2-10 or 2-12.
I am leaning towards the Springfield Armory, but what do yall think? What did I not list that I should be looking at in the same ballpark?
Springfield Armory Redline
.308 - 16" Barrel - 6lbs on the dot - $1,500ish
Springfield is also doing a tax free stamp on Banish cans for the time being. So, this effectively brings the price down $200.00
Christensen Arms Ridgeline Scout
.308 - 16" Barrel - 5.9lbs or so - $1,900ish
Ruger American Gen2 Ranch
.308 - 16" Barrel - 6.5lbs - $550

Sig Cross is a shooter and it has a folding stock…..that’s the one I’d add to the list

This is what I have and love it. Mine shoots great but I’ve heard that CA can be hit or miss on accuracy. I’ve got a Zeiss V6 with a can on it.

Under $2,500 for gun. Probably same for glass.
Looking at Leupold MK5/6 or NF.

I don’t know much about the Springfield but my buddy and his kids have the Christian’s with the carbon barrels. Nice guns but one of the three do not like the higher grain bullets. One has a z5, a nightforce SHV and the other a vortex.
I have also shot a couple Bergara’s and liked those a lot.
I’m looking hard for a Remington 5R mil-spec

Basic Tikka t3 and stock/chassis of your choosing. Will be very light and far under your budget.

6.5 grendel in a carbon howa. Not sure if they are 16” though. Will be lighter and kick less than that .308.

Alternatively, that budget could get you a mk12 mod H ready to go.
Or, an M1A socom (way over weight limit, but so cool)
Or a Marlin Trapper 45-70
Endless cool options with this fluffy budget.

A lever 45-70 is probably my next gun, but one at a time.
I’d love a Socom, but I already have a 20# AR10.
I don’t mind the Sig Cross, but the CA Scout or SA Redline are top choices at the moment.
Lots of other great options mentioned, but I’m wanting to stick to a 16” or 18” barrel. The Bergara was a great mention, but barrel length kicks it out.

The B14 Ridge has a version with an 18" barrel in 308.

Unless you’re using a suppressor, the 16” barrel will be too loud.

Man, you can probably build up a pretty sweet semi-custom gun for that price. Bergara is selling their premier action by itself now for ~$900. You could get a nice stock like the MDT field stock for $300. Can get yourself a top of the line barrel such as a Proof carbon for $1000. And then a top of the line trigger like a Trigger Tech Diamond for ~$300. That's $2500 right there. Depending on the barrel, may require a little gunsmith work which would put it over, but I'm sure you can also find some lower pricing than what I listed for all the components since that's all straight from the manufacturer's site MSRP. That's where I'd go. But I also enjoy making things my own.
Another $2500 for a scope and you have too many good options.

Check Weatherby’s 307 lineup. Since they moved to Sheridan, WY they have really been busy.

That's the first I'd heard of the gun. It looks nice w/ some good features. I hope it sell well.

Have you considered having a bolt action rifle built. It's been a few years but I had one built for that money. It would be worth a conversation with some one about it. I had mine built by Maniacal arms in Covington.not sure where you are located.

We need to get the ok from Chicken to do OB group build from a gun maker from Louisiana.
I’ve got 3 APR rifles and 2 STI pistols done this way. I’m not sure how many STI 10mm pistols are out there but it was a fun build process.
