Well the trump could limit disbursements solely to food and construction equipment sourced only from the USA. No disbursements for cash grants or media

almost like congress gets to allocate funds.

But it’s a republican congress both houses.

They can cut funding if they want to.

that’s their job.

Thin majority. All they need to do is peel off a few shitbirds like Eyepatch McCain and suspend the Hastert rule about requiring a majority of the majority to get a bill voted on.

I don't trust the Republicans either. Both sides are feeding from the trough and we're paying for it. The only people I trust to do the right thing are the two people who don't need the money. Trump and Elon.

Doesn’t the president have to sign them?

the idea that we can trust billionaires because they’re rich is laughable.

rich people want to get richer.

That’s true of congressmen and the richest man on the planet.

And idont think you can outright buy trump, but throwing money and support in the election bought him a lot of new odd allies.

Besides helping him out in his revenge tour, Trump wasn’t exactly a budget hawk his first term.

Elon Musk used to talk about how big of an issue climate change was… when he was trying to sell evening electric cars and solar panels (still think the roof shingle solar panels were his coolest idea that never went anywhere)

If the likes of him insists on things like drag queen story time in Iraq, those payments should be fully transparent for all to see just as DOGE has laid bare.

True. In the past, when Rs have had control of Congress, they typically get caught with no plans and get left with their thumbs stuck up their asses.

Hopefully that will change this time.

my understanding is congress allocates a set funding of USAID in the CR

USAID administrators then distribute the money. but i am not clear on how the designated recipients are chosen. is it state department, Oval Office, USAID itself.

If it is distributed by the executive branch, cant trump then designate where it goes if it is mandated he spend it all?

send a few million still as food aide. fire most of the staff and the send the remaining to another government entity to "aide" the world....like the DOD or border wall......

Don’t send money for food. Send actual food.

If American farmers can’t keep up then send beans and corn from Mexican and South American farmers. This may be enough of an economic shot in the arm for our Southern neighbors that they can make a decent life in their own country.

this. and it would be even better if the money used for Ethanol was now used to buy crops grown on that land that are then sent to the hungry of the world..... kill 2 birds with one stone......

It's obvious that Congress did not specify how a lot of USAID money was spend, and that Bureaucrats at USAID used the money as they wanted to.

If they fund USAID in the CR, it should go to USAID as it now exists under the State Department and Marco Rubio's oversight.

I think the Dems won't be too eager to fund a USAID that is under Rubio's control.

What exactly are you afraid of? What has the USAID propaganda network told you besides just to be mad because it’s trump?

Or we can arrest 5 democrats for fraud, they won't be there to vote.

Elon Musk deciding tons of public services are “waste” slashing their funding leading to disfunctiin and enrichment of the corporations and himself when they start to provide the private “solution” to the problem.

the kind of thinking that points out that the USPS loses money and UPS makes money, and doesn’t consider that sending letters at an affordable rate is not a profit maker.

I dont really care about USAID spending but does he have this level of power with the department of transportation? Does that not concern you when he makes his money selling cars and building or not building huperloops?

Putting the Dems back in power is more important to people like Sammy than rooting out corruption.

Just have transparency otherwise you could be trading corruption for other corruption.

Describe the transparency you are looking for.

This sounds like a general complaint being pushed by MSM with no specifics.

Even the talking points are weak and lame.
Maxine, Hogg and Charlie Main are the faces of the dnc. Let that sink in.

I’m fine for funding USAID if they do so on single appropriation bills with definite timelines and audit processes. No more funding for this to go to that. If you want a water wheel in Uganda, you buy only the water wheel in Uganda. Simple as that.
