Is he not going to Audit the DoD and NASA?

I dont see how he could cut a trillion in spending and waste without looking at a department with a 800 billion+ budget.

So close to getting this.

You’re so close to getting this.

there is nothing funnier to me than discussing things with an ignorant lawyer

one would think a lack of understanding of the details of the topic being discussed might temper their arrogance and need to argue

or at least bring caution

but it almost never does, because the ego gets in the way

here is the Sec of the Treasury himself explaining DOGE's role to Bloomberg

peace out

Well if a US Official who was appointed by the same guy letting Elon Musk go through everything says they’re good who
am I to argue.

They are being suit because they hooked out a private email server to OPM but this is just Treasurr employees doing treasury work.

you mean the Secretary of the Treasury?

you do understand that Congress has the authority to audit and demand explanations for the expenditures at any time. Why havent they?

the IG Office has audited USAID as recently as last year with an outside auditor

Audit of USAID’s Financial Statements for Fiscal Years 2024 and 2023 (0-000-25001-C)
PDF of report

why werent you crying about an outside auditor looking into USAID last year?

the difference is DOGE is going the next step and seeing WHAT the expenses are, where they are going to, what the line items in the AFE are supposed to be and the Treasury is releasing the info straight to the public

you know, for transparency and disclosure

You’re comparing an audit by an agency congress created to DOGE.

If it’s the same thing why aren’t they doing it with Trump’s IGs?

USAID administrators then distribute the money. but i am not clear on how the designated recipients are chosen.

That is the thing. There WAS NO CONGRESSIONAL OVERSIGHT. Congress would give billions of dollars to different departments. Then they would give money to some other entity and then the money would then go to an NGO and they did whatever the hell they wanted to do with it.

By ending USAID the public including congress will not be able to see where the money is being spent.

no it was a third party audit by an outside accounting firm

Link to OIG Page

the audit report is on the page

quote:

Report Number
0-ADF-25-003-C
Nov 15, 2024

Why We Did This Audit

The Government Management Reform Act of 1994 (the Act) requires annual audits of the financial statements for the agencies we oversee.
We contracted with the independent certified public accounting firm of Williams, Adley & Company-DC LLP (Williams Adley) to conduct an audit of USADF’s financial statements for fiscal years ending 2024 and 2023.
The audit objectives were to: (1) express an opinion on whether the financial statements as of September 30, 2024, and September 30, 2023, were presented fairly, in all material respects; (2) evaluate USADF’s internal control over financial reporting, and (3) determine whether USADF complied with applicable laws, regulations, contracts, and grant agreements.

What We Found

Opinion: Williams Adley concluded that USADF’s financial statements as of September 30, 2024, and September 30, 2023, are presented fairly, in all material respects, and in conformity with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles.
The audit firm also found no reportable noncompliance with provisions of applicable laws, regulations, contracts, and grant agreements.
The audit firm found no material weaknesses in internal control over financial reporting but found deficiencies in the internal controls over the Funds Held Outside of Treasury process. We collectively identified these deficiencies as a reportable significant deficiency.

Why It Matters

These audits help meet the Act’s intent of providing a more effective, efficient, and responsive government.
We are making six recommendations to address the internal control deficiencies identified in the fiscal year 2024 report. USADF agreed with all six recommendations.

Don't wound what you can kill. Destroy USAID entirely. There is no constitutional justification for taking Americans' money and giving it to foreigners.
