Same situation as when we signed him. Why would the Giants give up anything for Carr when we’re just going to cut him?

Nobody at ESPN writes article stating "Hey, this might be a good idea for the Giants to do this". Contains nothing about the Giants actually being interested.

There, saved you the time

because of salary cap implications. Cheaper for saints to trade instead of cut

Are the Giants going for a tank next season or do they have another QB that will be a Redzone Specialist?

I am just trying to understand the Why.

The Saints probably wouldn't cut him. However, the Saints have no leverage in a potential trade and would probably take just about anything NY would offer just to get out from under the contract. Well, if the Saints were actually run by a savvy GM.

What will probably happen is Philadelphia will get Mickey to make the following deal:

Eagles get: Carr, the Saints 2025 1st round pick and 2026 2nd round pick
Saints get: the Eagles 2025 7th round pick, a box of cheesesteaks, and a signed Jason Kelce track suit.

What a terrible click bait article.

quote:

The Saints and Carr are rumored to be heading for a divorce this offseason, despite New Orleans having signed the four-time Pro Bowler to a four-year, $150 million contract in 2023

Has this been reported by anyone? And then just a paragraph later it says:

quote:

Carr is due $40 million next year and will count $51.45 million against the salary cap in 2025 if the Saints don’t restructure his contract. He and the Saints have reportedly had “super positive” conversations regarding his future.

And the clickbait article this is “based on” is two pages long and only mentions Carr in one sentence while talking about FA QBs and QBs in the draft.

And to all the people in this thread saying to trade him, who do you want to replace home with?

Doubtful but If they were they'd need to eat half his salary and we would likely send them a 3rd round pick or something. Not unheard of but Carr would also have to waive the no trade clause. Which might not be that hard if the Saints say waive it or get waived and good luck getting paid on the open market.
