Hopefully this will be a success. Antonio Gates is the only one that comes to mind that was successful at both in college.
Hopefully Mr. Green can be great at both as well.
Just please no injuries!!!

Guess you’ve never heard of Tony Gonzalez (CAL) , Jimmy Graham (MIA), Julius Peppers (UNC), or Martellus Bennett (A&M).

I support Green’s commitment to play both sports, hoping he can get some meaningful minutes and help on offense and defense

To me the GOAT was Dave Winfield playing BOTH basketball and baseball at an extremely high level. Won the Big 10 in basketball and college World Series MVP. Drafted in all 3 sports by 4 professional teams despite never playing football in college.
A few other athletes did the same.

Tony Gwynn holds the San Diego State basketball record for assists.

He played another sport too.

Charlie Ward was a Heisman Trophy winner who led his team to a football national championship and a first-round NBA pick who played 9 years in the NBA.

Super human vision. I'm sure that helps on a basketball court. Just read he didn't even play baseball his freshman year at SDSU because of his basketball commitments.

Seems like it’s an awful lot of risk to just play and not have a shot with a good team. Sorry. I’d prefer he focuses on football.

If I recall correctly, Gates didn’t play football in college, but only basketball. That was the strange thing about him being so dominant in the NFL.

He could tear his Achilles walking to class on any given day but I gotta say, I’m not the biggest fan of him playing basketball. If he was truly NBA material, he would have gotten a mega NIL deal and never risked playing football which is less money and more pain.

Just seems like a waste of time and the basketball team sucks a five gallon bucket full of dicks anyways

I never have any problem with 2 sport athletes. I think it helps bring cohesion to men's athletics in general. I wish him the best of luck, especially if he can provide any kind of spark.

I suspect that he's the strongest player on the team, so if we face a team with a very strong big, we may need him to wear him down. I hope we can see him play a little to see if he looks lost, and what skills he has.
