I mean I don't want to be a dick here, but didn't they do exactly what the guy wanted?

frick those pieces of shits. suicide or not, both should be charged with negligent homicide, and if not something - their actions are criminal imho.

Seemed like an easy way to rack up overtime hours.

Pretty sad that they left the guy while he was still breathing. Could have at least called 911.

This is a tough one.

I mean there's no question that the cop is a POS if he didn't help just because he was a lazy arse.

But I've always questioned whether or not we should try to stop suicidal people. If we are truly supposed to have "free will" then shouldn't we be allowed to decide when we want to check out?

I know that mental illness is a major cause of this and those folks need help. But when it comes to people dying of a terminal, slow acting disease that has them in constant excruciating pain, why should they have to suffer?

I'm comparing apples to oranges here, but it's a question worth pondering.

I know the bible says it is a sin to commit suicide and that only God can take us out. But with medical advances that we have today who's to say when we are just prolonging something that God wanted to happen?

A Colorado case in front of the SCOTUS years back stated that the police were not responsible for protecting the public.

This is definitely an example of them not providing protection.

I know this ruffles feathers every single time.

The Supreme Court has ruled in several cases between medical help and protecting people that officers are NOT required to render medical aid to a person or have not legally required to protect anyone either.

It sucks but they won’t get in trouble for that because of the different Supreme Court cases

IMO there needs to be more discussion around the fact there was no gun there within the vicinity.

Disgusting pieces of shite.. the disconnect grows much faster than the needed respect between Leo and citizens

To those hiding behind the not there duty… fine. Why no real effort to locate the gun?
