Firing the DC, both line coaches, and linebackers coach.
I hope this signals they seriously want to win and are willing to build a good team around Joe and Ja'Marr. It's not just on the coaches though, they've got to spend some money on improving the O-line and improving the defense overall. Felt like 2023 LSU a lot this year, but with more sacks.

Great, now just kick Taylor out the door and that will tell me they are serious about change.

This is thing with some of y'all acting like you keep up with the Bengals. They made Burrow the highest paid QB in the league. You want them to make Chase the highest paid WR in the league. That's at least $90 million per year on just those two players. I'd imagine you probably want them to pay Tee Higgins too after seeing how their offense looked without him Saturday. You want them to spend a bunch of money on the O-Line (which they already have), and obviously they need to spend money on the defense.

I’ll believe it when I see it. Problem is.. you just paid Joe, going to have to pay jamarr and Higgins. Those are/will be three massive contracts

7-14-1. That's the Bengals record in September and the main reason they got bounced this year. And that's on the HC. Who still has a job. Anarumo probably had to go this year but I'd be surprised if losing a DC and a few position coaches is going to generate the desired result for Cincy.

You realize there’s this thing called a salary cap right? After they make Chase the highest paid receiver in the league in the offseason, there’s only so much money left to spend.
Quite the conundrum when you a chunk of you cap tied up with 2 players.

Yeah, but they make it work in Madden, so it should be easy.

I.like Burrow and Chase but who the frick cares about who coaches Cincy? Bring this to the coaching Changes board not the rant.

It seems like they've focused on the OL every year, either through the draft and/or free agents, it just hasn't worked out. Maybe it is coaching, I dunno, but their OL consistently sucks.

Something that has never gone hand and in hand with the Bengals organization.

Both Tobin and Taylor need to go, IMO.

We'll see what happens but based on comments Burrow and Higgins have made, it sounds like Burrow may restructure his contract and Higgins take less money to keep the band together. The salary cap is also expected to raise by another ~$10-20M.
quote:
Without an official projection from the league office, NFL teams are budgeting for a salary cap in the $265 million to $275 million range for 2025, sources say.
That would be a roughly $10 million to $20 million increase from the $255.4 million-per-club cap this season -- a relatively conservative projection given the record $30.6 million jump from 2023 to 2024 as revenues spiked with new TV deals and diminished aftershocks from empty stadiums in the 2020 COVID-19 year.
Planning is more difficult without the league projection that, until recent years, was distributed at the NFL's December meeting and labor seminar that kicks off Monday in Dallas. But the league and NFL Players Association agreed not to release projections after they met last week.
The cap is, in fact, expected to rise from $255.4 million this league year, sources say. But how much it rises may not be clear for months. The league and union traditionally finish their accounting and agree to the final number around the NFL Scouting Combine, which takes place in late February and early March in Indianapolis.
The 2020 collective bargaining agreement is a revenue-sharing agreement in which the cap is based on players' share of projected revenue, divided into salary and benefits. It includes a "media kicker" that can increase the players' share from 48% up to as much as 48.8%, which was a primary driver of 2024's record cap spike. This year's growth is likely to be more modest.
While national TV revenue won't move from its projection, local revenue does. In fact, locally, teams have been overperforming recently. Sources say by the middle of January, local attendance and sponsorship numbers should be updated, and the league should know (mostly) who is likely to host playoff games, how many and what the gate will be.
Then, there is the matter of $9 million the union chose to defer from 2024, rather than having an even bigger spike. Sources say the agreement was that the $9 million would be used for 2025 and 2026, with no more than half being used this offseason.
All of this has some NFL teams frustrated they don't even have an idea where the league ultimately expects the cap to land as they budget for free agency, tags, tenders, etc. But they have no choice but to wait.
The 2025 league year and free agency are scheduled to begin on March 12, with the negotiating window opening March 10.

Joe Brady would be all over this head coaching job if it came open. Bengals should not keep Taylor.

Unless they fire Taylor it doesn’t matter. #FREEJOE

Joe Brady would make a great offensive minded HC for the Cincinnati Bengals team. I approve of this move if it should happen and reconnect Brady & Burrow.

You're going to be disappointed if you're expecting Taylor to be fired.

Lipstick on a pig. Taylor is the BIGGEST problem.

Dumb move… he was a great DC and big reason for their success. They need to fire whoever is in charge of drafting along with the head coach. When Patrick Mahomes gets Andy Reid and Lamar Jackson gets Harbough, and you see Joe with Zac Taylor, it’s a complete mismatch. He’s not a Super Bowl winning coach.
