The New Orleans Saints will be irrelevant for the next 2-5 yrs.

They are a franchise in decline. Everything they have built from 2006 is gone. This franchise needs to be rebuilt, but in today’s game it doesn’t happen fast. The next coach will not be the guy. He will have nothing to work with except overhauling the entire roster. It will take a few years for this team to be a contender if they can even get there. Loomis, has fricked this organization up with kicking cans down the road. Now they are screwed and nothing can be done except hope they find a QB. Issues across the board.

They have been irrelevant for the majority of their existence

So…just like the last four years?

This is fine provided we stop digging the holes.

Some of you people are so fricking entitled. Do you realize how fortunate you have been to not have this franchise win less than 7 games over an 18 year period and be in playoff contention into the llast week, Most teams have a 3 to 5 year span of success then drop to 4 to 6 wins for a few seasons before contending again. Loomis' moves were critical to this, but eventually the Saints like other teams must go through their rebuilding process.

quote:you are so right this board is just full of complete drama Queens, one moment tank, the next moment, we are not gonna be a relevant for the next 4 to 5 years. then let’s see sell the franchise. Gail Benson sucks, Mickey Loomis sucks, Let’s sell the franchise, the franchise is going to move to another city. On and on and on
Some of you guys are such drama queens
frick I have never seen so much many people up on the self pity pot and all my life.

Nobody is upset we have to go through a rebuild. We're upset that Loomis and co pushed it off for so long, when it should've started 2-3 years ago. He kept kicking the can down the road and has now made our rebuild, that should've taken a few years, a process that could take 5-6 years, and that's IF things go smoothly and they make good decisions from here on out.
The front office has mismanaged the roster and cap and now we're in a deep hole. That is a very legitimate concern and fans have every reason to voice their frustration.

No one in the NFL rebuilds for 5-6 years. They either whiff at qb/coach or they don’t.

Lol it would be a miracle if we’re good again in 5 years.

The saints are a bottom tier franchise. This is just a return to the mean after the Brees era.

Loomis probably would have passed on JD5 and drafted Maye

People have been saying this for 4 years now. Should have packed it up and began a rebuild the second Brees retired.

Watching the NBC pre-game for Lions-Vikings and noticed Marcus Davenport yukking it up in street clothes on the Minny sidelines. Remember when the Saints traded up in the ‘18 draft and all the commentators were expecting them to take Lamar Jackson right before they picked that useless cocksucker?
Good times, good times.
Good times, good times.

Denver this year
Teams like Rams, Lions in previous years
Beat cap hell fairly quickly. Find a coach and the right QB. First step would just be eating Carr’s money and dumping him to accelerate the rebuild

Nothing wrong with it.. I did that this year though I assumed it was all for nought, which it was.
Guess we'll get a few more runs around the eliminated desk.
