At a family cabin all weekend with cousins ranging from 13 - 22. Constant argument between young and old about which horror movie to watch.

Would the board please recommend a legit scary movie that is age appropriate. Lots of jump scares but also actual scary/coherent plot that won't put the older kids off.

TIA!

How about "The Other" from 1972

"The Exorcist" is legit scary, but deals with some mature subject matter that some parents aren't prepared to let their kids see-----or hear.

"The Omen" the original with Gregory Peck from the 70's

"Psycho" from the 60's and a Hitchcock classic

There's a whole ton of "Scream Queen" and chop-em up movies out there, but they are more gore than story telling.

Ring pretty good answer. Pretty creepy but not a gore fest or overly mature theme.

Good except the scene with the parents smoking a joint in their bedroom. Completely unnecessary scene.

If numerous "frick" and "cvnt" and other numerous top-tier cussing is ok for kids, then sure.

I think some of yall are remembering the TBS versions of these movies and not the original cuts.

If the cabin is remote, watch Legend Of Boggy Creek. Those kids will be looking over their shoulders for the rest of the trip.

I didn’t see anyone mention The Changeling. It’s probably a little too slow paced for what you need though.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
