There was already an adaptation of The Odyssey released this year.

I love this way more than the rumored futuristic helicopter movie. I’m assuming Damon is Odysseus?

I'm a Nolan fan mostly...but why tackle a story that the Coens already perfected?

Unless it's artistic ego...which I am all the way here for...I just don't get it.

I guess you could take another character's perspective and show the hero/folly aspects.

frick it...it's Nolan and I think I talked myself into watching whatever this becomes.

The movie starts 4 years after Odysseus' return.

What about helicopters and vampires?

The Odyssey is ballsy as frick
I wonder if he’s always wanted to do it

I look forward to this

I wish he would have gone further back and remade Troy too. But not by completely changing the story so the main characters don’t die in the middle. Orlando’s Paris surviving the siege was straight up retarded.

Sounds awesome. Looking forward to this….as well as him directing the next Bond film in 2029.

When are they going to stop shoving Zendaya down our throats?

Smart move. THE Odyssey is a popular story right now with teens because of Epic: The Musical.

This is an odd jump for him. Feels ego-driven and has high bust potential. Unless there's some unique angle here, seems like a relatively workaday story to tell for him. There's gotta be a less well-known and less attempted story out there to tell.

Tom Holland or Matt Damon as the lead/co-lead in an Ancient Greek Epic

It's Nolan, so who knows. He could pull a rabbit out of the hat.

Cool. I can already hear the arguments about what color the Greeks were. Can't wait.

They should have just stayed on the Island of the Lotus Eaters. They were happy and everyone loved each other there. Instead, they all died horrible deaths, all but Achilles, that is.

The only way this works with Matt Damon and Tom Holland is if Nolan is planning on setting the Odyssey story in another era. Cannot see any of these actors in ancient Greece.

Aren't a lot of films basically an adaptation of The Odyssey in one form or another?

OG story gets copied quite often for Plot.
