Timeline of how fast everyone lost their money
WTF did these people putting money into it expect to happen? It was a shite meme coin. I think the only meme coin to ever stick around is Doge. All others follow this same path. Morons.
Also, pretty dumb of her to let someone talk her into being the face of this fraud.

Serious question: What is the difference between stuff like this and something like bitcoin...is it just that bitcoin is more widely accepted, or are they not at all the same thing?

Yep. She has no idea what she is doing. Someone sold her a promise then rugged the investors and made millions leaving her as the face to get the backlash.
There is a group that has used internet "celebs" and done this repeatedly. They did it with that fat youtuber Boogie 2998 or whatever who played Francis a while back and paid him like $100K to be the face of it. They then rugged the investors and he got all the backlash.

Bitcoin was the first and is seen as the standard for the market like the dollar is for world trade.
Other coins have an actual function to them like Ethereum so that is where their value comes from
Shitcoins like this have no function (they try to claim they do and holders will get perks that never come true) and struggle to hold any value. They are a get rich quick scheme for the developers and people keep falling for them.
Doge is the only shitcoin to ever hold value and that is largely because it was the first real meme coin and Elon has also kept the meme alive. It's just a rare internet phenomenon.

It seems like a fight for legitimacy and market share. After the FTX scandal, it seems like the crypto coins all centralized to a very select few. As of right now, Bitcoin seems to be the most secure and free from shenanigans and has withstood the test of time in the short lifespan of crypto.
I like Haley. She a cute good ole girl with pure good intentions from what I've seen. She had an embarrassing moment, embraced it and capitalized on it. I would however, never ever buy any kind of investment she was in control of.
