Is that a real response? If it is, you are truly stupid.
Gold is gold. I can hold it. I have a ring of it on my hand. It's used everyday in industrial applications.

Ever heard of the saying that markets can remain unreasonable longer than you can stay liquid?

No, he is not stupid. It was a great question.
What is the practical value of gold?
It has value in electronics because it is a very good conductor. But other than that, what practical use does it have besides jewelry?
If shite hit the fan and the financial system collapsed, gold would be pretty much worthless. The only things of value would be water, seeds, ammunition and guns, your ability to perform manual labor, and your knowledge.

So, your argument is that if everything goes to shite, the one thing that has been used as a currency since the beginning of currency will be worth nothing?
That's truly your argument?

Yes. I suppose at some point people will settle on some form of token currency. But in the beginning, transactions will all be based on bartering.
I have food. You have water. You also have a pile of gold.
Do we exchange some of my food for your water, or do I accept gold in return for my food?
I can't drink gold.
Think long and hard before you reply.

I don't have to think about it. Gold will always have value in our society.
If you think it won't, you're just wrong.

It is very obvious that you put no thought into it.
You've been watching too many late-night infomercials and have drank the kool-aid. How much have you invested in gold bars and coins?
Please explain to me what practical value gold has besides the electronics and jewelry industries?
Other than electronics and jewelry, it is totally symbolic.
Think long and hard before you reply again.
