Heading to eastern Oregon in January on a Chukar hunt. High is typically 34 and low in the 20's, can be snow. Probably end up walking/hiking around 6-7 miles.

Any pant recommendations for the cold that won't weigh me down trekking multiple miles each day?

Go look at kuiu and their sale now. Attack pant or guide pant. Huge sales. Lughtweight. Great pant

I'm also a big Kuiu fan. I have several pair of the attack pants. You'll need some good base layers to go with them. They have an athletic fit so it may not be a bad idea to buy a size up

Kuiu attack pants are fantastic as long as you aren't going brush busting. Briars will destroy them.

I am a big fan of the under armor lined pants.
Been wearing them for a couple of years.
Durable and warm
Good sale now at Amazon

I use 100% merino wool. Tried them out this past week. Worked well

Got them on some Canadian website.

I'm a member of some of the Kuiu/sitka forums and people on there recommend these over some of the Kuiu pants. Lots of issues with the lighter weight pants tearing for $130+ a pair when these can be replaced for $30/pair, are similar fabric, and easily available at Walmart. Before trashing it go see a pair in person next time you're at Wally World

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I wear some cheap brown Magellan or Amazon pants and add base layers underneath, depending on the weather. Doesn't matter if I'm in a lock on, sitting on the ground or in a box. Works fine.

I’m a big fan of the Sitka timberline in cold weather walking type hunts. Especially if you might need to sit or kneel in the snow occasionally.

Merino wool base layers and any athletic pants will be fine. I used the Walmart wrangler brand in Colorado.

You might ask if you will be in heavy brush. A pair of chaps would be the best option for protection against stickers and moisture. Spend the money on Filson Single Tin Chaps. Will last forever.

If brush is not a factor then look at a pair of gaitors to protect legs/boots from moisture.

First Lite Catalyst Foundry pants are my favorite hunting pants.

Full length leg zipper and knee pads make them stand out for me.

just the basic Wrangler Outdoors Cargo pants are all you need. There's a 90% chance your local walmart has some in stock to check out and you can order a different size if needed online for $27
