Not sayin it's going to happen soon but the trend is moving that way for sure. No idea where you make up 40 EV's if TX ever goes blue.

I do not think so, I saw that the influx was spread around the country more than just to texas.

I live in Texas and the people I've talked to form Cal or elsewhere vote Red. I'm not sure what indicators you're seeing that says Texas is trending blue?

Abbott needs to go full Desantis and clean up the voter roles!

Yeah and it's not the migrants/border counties in Texas. It's the rapidly growing TX suburbs.

This happened in Florida as well, until it did not. With Hispanics moving right, Texas will be safe for the foreseeable future.

A lot of these transplants are conservative. Know a lawyer in Nevada who told me that all the Cali residents flooding into the state may turn Nevada red.

I've heard the same thing since the first time I voted in 1988. The rest of the country better hope it doesn't happen, if it does there will never be another R in the White House, dems would have 122 right of the bat with TX, NY, and CA.

As I have said many times, it's only a matter of time before CA emigration flips a bunch of inefficiently pro-GOP states in the Plains (Montana, ND, SD, Wyoming) and the country is transformed perpetually blue. They'll have a dominant position in the Senate and more ECs than the populations should project.

Doesn’t help when you have a Soros election administrator in Dallas pulling shenanigans he did in Fort Worth.

I think most of the transplants are actually conservatives moving from Cali.

Illegals getting free government everything. If you are on the Gov tit, you don't vote against Santa Claus (Democrat Party).

Genuinely have no idea what will happen for Texas in the long term

But it certainly seems like FL is evidence that growth/desirability doesn't necessarily mean it has to end up with a leftward lurch.

Whoever brought up Florida is exactly right and hopefully the path that Texas will take. California's main issue was that it was flat out invaded. It went from being like 5% Hispanic to 45% in 35 years.

What about the deep red high school and middle school kids that start voting red and will forever, I know an assload from there who were early teens to high schoolers when I worked as an intern at a church that are now young adults who are unbelievable conservative.

For all the transplants they get from CA, NY, or other left leaning states they also get a ton from LA, OK, and AR. It’s a mixed bag that’s coming in from more liberal states too. Some whose work has moved them there are libs, but the ones moving to TX to escape taxes, crime, etc. are often moderate to conservative. I think if TX was to get a great governor akin to Desantis it would push them into blowout territories in elections. Abbott has been okay, but could have been stronger on a lot of things.
