The 2 decisions that crushed Harris’s momentum- THE HILL

Not a single Democrat I speak with believes that Vice President Kamala Harris will win on Tuesday.
A Democratic strategist is quoted as saying, “People are nervous, and they’re trying to cover their arse and get a little ahead of Election Day. It’s based on anxiety, stakes and the unique nature of this cycle. We didn’t have a traditional process for this election. We didn’t have a primary. People just had to fall in line.”
Again, this is coming from a Democrat. They had to just “fall in line” because they were ordered to do so. Then, any hope of an open convention was further dashed by the combined backroom dealings of the Democratic National Committee, former President Barack Obama, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).
Immediately after those backroom dealings, every nonconforming Democrat had to accept that Harris, without getting one vote in the primary, was being installed by the machine to replace the sputtering President Joe Biden. With that selection predetermined, Biden officially announced on July 21 that he would not be running for reelection and was endorsing Harris as his replacement.
The temporary buzz and “joy” began. Except it began to dissipate even before the Democratic convention in Chicago on Aug. 19. Why? Because Harris picked Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate on Aug. 6. As these Democratic operatives told me, from almost day one, she had to spend precious time and energy defending that choice.
The selection of Walz is the first reason she lost momentum. To be sure, much of the party — and many in the liberal media — wanted Harris to pick the more moderate Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro — first because the Keystone State was certain to be the most pivotal in the election, and second because Shapiro would have added some ideological balance to the ticket.
By any honest analysis, Harris is a far-left liberal. That said, it can be argued that Walz is even further to the left than she is. Leaving aside the practical reasons Harris should have picked a more moderate running mate is the reality that self-described “knucklehead” Walz has been a liability from day one.

I will be honest, I do not understand why she didn’t pick anyone else, unless they wanted nothing to do with the campaign.
That is the only explanation for Shapiro.
He must have felt that he would suffer politically if he attached himself to Harris.

The only one who crushed Harris is Harris. She is not likable

Democracy dies in darkness.

Joe fricked the party by endorsing her right out of the gate. How do you win a change election when you are the status quo?

Shapiro has his eyes on 2028, ble dat
And might be the unspoken reason Pa goes MAGA

The Hill...conservative or liberal? I guess I can believe these stories once the election is over.

Seems like the last couple of years Pelosi got tired of hearing her party was being ran by the Squad, the fringe Left, and probably made that known through out her colleagues. I think it has gotten to a point where even the Left doesn't want anybody THAT liberal running their party.

Seedrick Richmond as a Campaign Advisor didn't help

I love how the propaganda is so bad that it’s doing nothing to stop the blue doom. That Iowa poll was supposed to pick up their spirits and momentum, but seems to have to an even bigger “oh ffs this is just getting ridiculous” reaction from people who know what’s going on. No one is buying their BS anymore and they don’t even have enough requested ballots to pull out of their asses as a last ditch.

Shapiro wasn’t going to be the difference. He was worth maybe a 50 to 60,000 swing in PA and maybe not that much. If Trump wins WI, PA wouldn’t have mattered anyway.

If they would have gone with a white guy and let him throw Biden and Harris under the bus, I think Trump would have been screwed.

I’d argue that there was never any momentum. There was never a time when she was popular outside of the fringe.
She was a token pick
She did nothing in her role in a failed administration.
She was installed without a vote
She had ZERO “wins” or highlights to her campaign.
Her VP pick has been a disaster
Trump, otoh was rallying, dodging bullets, running on change, getting mega endorsements, and hitting a grand slam with his VP pick.
The media certainly pretended she had a surge, but it never happened folks.

Yep, but I’m also not sure any legit candidates wanted to jump in late and take on Trump.
Better to keep your powder dry for 2028.

You have one conversation with her behind the scenes and you realize you’re talking to the worst person to run for president in history. Her staff is a never-ending merry-go-round, she can’t explain anything about what she stands for, like I’m talking shoot the shite conversations. 15 minutes of that and the only person you’re going to get is a no-name retard from a state you never hear about who is just looking for his own 15 minutes of notoriety he never would’ve gotten otherwise.

I think that you are right and anyone with political viability wanted no part of this. I would bet Shapiro turned her down. The prize would be VP for a President that would be a disaster or lose to Trump. The fact he is also Jewish probably influenced his decision as well.

nobody with any moral integrity would want to even be in the same room with Cumalot.

Either she made the decision because of his religion, or he declined because of what she wanted him to do/say in the campaign.

Ironic that the Dems own bigotry may have cost them the election.
