A South African native who landed in Canada and ultimately ended up coming to America and doing more for the US in a very short timeframe than pretty much any American in the past hundred years, works for Russia.

Once upon a time, SpaceX bought or attempted to buy rockets from Russia, not sure if it's ongoing, but it seems like a good reason for Elon to talk to Putin. I believe it is pretty well documented, which makes this a whole lot of nothing.
