I’ve probably read a dozen or more posts about smoked sausage options over the years. I live out of state and either get sausage shipped or fill an ice chest when I’m back in Louisiana.

After seeing so many recommendations for Teet’s, I finally pulled the trigger and had their smoked pork sausage, boudin and jerky shipped. I haven’t used the sausage yet but their jerky and boudin were both great. Can’t wait to try the sausage in some red beans, gumbo or jambalaya.

The jerky reminded me of Bourgeois’ in Thibodaux with a bit more spice. So after finishing the Teet’s jerky, I just ordered a dozen packs of Bourgeois’ jerky for comparison since it’s been over 10 yrs since I last had it.

Appreciate all the recommendations through the years. I know a lot of posters live out of state and order online, so wanted to share some feedback. Please share any others who ship out of state that you recommend.

I get Best Stop boudin and cracklins.

Teets for smoked sausage and the jap/cheddar or jack/smoked onion sausage.

Wayne Jacobs for andouille and tasso.

Twice a year, I buy 5 lbs of smoked sausage, 5lbs of boudin, and one lb of hog head cheese from Teet’s.

Best Stop tasso, sausage, and boudin is available at one of my local grocers, so that’s what I buy in the mean time. If I want what I call “grilling sausage” or if I need to supplement anything else, I buy our local central MS product, “Country Pleasin”

I’ve tried several different local shops in LA and none of them have been any better than Conecuh. Teet’s is good? I’ll try them next. What’s a good url for them?

FOH with that skinny greasy shite.

My current favorites are Lejeune's and Bourque's. Rod's is good as well.

I recently picked up some Rabideaux's products and think their smoked sausage is my new favorite. Their smoked boudin and pepperjack boudin balls rival Kartchner's and Billy's...I'd have to try them side by side to see if one was any better than the other. They are in Iowa between Lafayette and Lake Charles.
I've heard Lejeune's in Eunice is excellent and it's at the top of my "try" list but it's out of the way.

Ok. I've tried Conecuh. It's sold in Fiesta Mart in Katy.

But the Lord willing, come tomorrow I shall be buying the GOAT, i.e., Rabideaux's smoked andouille (Iowa, LA, I-10 exit 44) and may forego Conecuh for the foreseeable future.

Kartchner’s (especially green onion) if picking up from the source, Rabideaux’s in the supermarket, Best Stop if the supermarket doesn’t carry Rabideaux’s.

Almost any small town in Cajun country North of I-10 has good smoke sausage. They are everywhere.

I usually make a run to Jacob's mid-late September to get my sausage and andouille for gumbo season. Almost that time!
